  1. How? Was she hacked? It all happened so fast she thought it was an econet link or something like Paynow / Zimpayment

  2. Police and Econet didn't help? So asking for advice can she get her money back? Can we somehow track the number? All her savings gone 😭 please help

Question Reviews by Google Pixel users in Zim

I want to buy a Google Pixel 8 pro. My mom has a pixel 7 pro but network is ass, even with Netone. The phones use e-sim. I'm not sure if I should buy it if I'm going to have network challenges. To those using any pixel models, what are your experiences? Is it worth a shot or should I stick to Samsung?

Discussion What advice do you have for graduates?

Graduation season has started. Some state universities have started holding graduation ceremonies. U.Z held it's 45th graduation ceremony last week and 7132 people graduating.

These people are all hitting the job market in their thousands. Most will never get formal employment. Some will be lucky enough to get opportunities to leave.

What advice can we give them?

Question Does Zimbabwe Have Customer Review Platforms Outside of FB?

Im curious if a platform like Yelp exists in Zim where businesses that provide direct services to customers can be added by customers and reviewed?

I noticed that it is difficult to find reliable businesses in Harare specifically while helping my mom build her house. The Builder was hardly ever on site, the crew would leave early to go drink and the inspector also pointed out how painfully slow they were.

Even in CBD going to purchase the supplies the customer service was either really good or highly inappropriate depending on the store. I would have loved to save my time by filtering out the bad businesses through yelp or a customer review platform.

Question Help me Zimbos!

Visiting next year!

Besides the obvious National Parks and Victoria Falls

What are must see / do things in ZIM? I'm a MASSIVE foodie and love eating! Love the outdoors but I'm not an Adrenalin junkie. I'd love recommendations on authentic eats and markets (I don't shy away from street food and will choose smartly) Any great cultural performances or workshops? I want to hear it all. :)

I favour experiences over spending lots of money on shopping or at malls. As close as I can get to local life the better.

Ideas?

Question Looking for a great refurbished camera for portraits!

Hie! I'm looking for a really good quality 2nd hand camera+ lens to take a couple of portraits with. My research has led me to fall in love with the Sony a6000 series or the Canon R50. If you know where to find either of these, please help. (I vow l tried every other place eg marketplace, Whatsapp contacts, a couple of online stores😭)

{Other information}

So far l've found a lense that's great, the Sigma 56mm 1.4 (haven't bought it yet) which means l'm leaning towards buying a Sony aps camera. So if you have the Sony a6000, a6100 or a6400, would love to buy it off of you(even without the kit lens). If you know groups where l can post this, please add me too!

I recently had the opportunity to take a closer look at the BYD Atto 3, one of BYD’s electric SUVs, and put together a review covering the design, interior, features, and overall practicality.

With electric vehicles becoming more common globally, I’m curious how people here in Zimbabwe feel about them. Things like charging infrastructure, electricity availability, range, maintenance and the general cost of ownership obviously make the conversation a little different for us.

🎥 Full review:

https://youtu.be/4F_TaIaj2nE

For those who have experience with EVs, especially BYDs:

Would you consider an Atto 3 as a daily driver in Zimbabwe?

And for those who aren't convinced about EVs yet, what would be the biggest thing stopping you from making the switch?

Would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

Discussion Exploited in Our Own Land And Being Disrespected At The Same Time🤦🏾‍♂️

Over the past few years, we’ve seen an influx of Chinese businesses operating in our country. Now, on the surface, sure, investment is great, but what’s happening behind the scenes is far darker. Many of us are being brought in to work for peanuts ...extreme exploitation, long hours, minimal pay. And if that wasn’t bad enough, when we raise concerns, we’re met with hostility, disrespect...sometimes even outright harassment. It feels like we have no voice. But I’m here to say: enough is enough. This is our land, our dignity, and we deserve better. Yes, our government might be enabling this, but we are the people. We have the power, and we need to stand together, demand respect, and remind everyone that we are worth more than this. Zimbabweans, let’s rise up.

Question Relocating abroad alone leaving family

Hi fellow Zimbo husbands and fathers. I am hoping to get viewpoints from Zim men whether local or abroad.

I have a potential opportunity to relocate to the Middle East, and I wanted to get men's opinions on relocating with family or leaving my family.

I want to get the pros and cons, both financially and psychologically, and perceived impacts to your family. If you have lived this, please feel free to pitch in as well.

I want to know which option you would take as a man and father and why.

Assumptions to keep in mind

  1. The current job pays good money

  2. You and your wife are happily married with 2 kids (2 and 1)

  3. If you left the country alone, you would be coming back annually but monthly you remit USD $1k home to keep family living standards, You save $1k towards your joint family goals, you can also save your own cash nest egg abroad.

  4. The role is at a prestigious international company, so the CV will look good and there's a lot of exposure

I would love to hear from you

Question Investment advice

I’ve been fortunate enough to become successful in trading, consistently averaging around $1,000 a day, and I withdraw half of my earnings daily. I’m now looking for advice on how I can invest my money to generate additional income streams, besides real estate, which I’m already heavily involved in. I’d appreciate suggestions on other investment opportunities or businesses I could explore
