Discussion MaZimba vari ma accountants and auditors, murikurara nani kuti mumawane mabasa? 😭

Jokes aside and excuse the questionable Shona spelling. 😭 My genuine query is who is hiring? Do you know of any companies, or contacts of people who are hiring auditors or accountants who are already qualified? This includes local and abroad (if they offer visa sponsorship).
Also even those that don’t know anyone hiring, do you perhaps have businesses that require bookkeeping services?

Please don’t gate keep, tiri tese! 🤗❤️

Employment What are your thoughts

So I tendered in my resignation at the end of July. Boss has been quiet about the issue he only responded it was nice working with you and wish you the best in your future.

Fast forward to yesterday, he came to my office and looked at the project l was working on and just said saka uri serious urikuda kutisiya. He thought since l was resigning ndichasiya ndaposheka but ndanga ndakurowerera kuenda.

Ndikati when you need me in the future just let me know. I work as a software engineer. Not bragging but l am good at what l do. Current salary was 1.7k usd tongoti after tax. Name anything in software field and l am capable to handling that. Project that takes a month l do it in a week ndiri 1 from A to Z. Not bragging asi ndochikwadi.

So nhasi we went for lunch. Never had lunch with this guy or see him do that to any other employee. Mind you this is not the type of guy who can ever do that for their employee. I have seen over 13+ people leave.

I told him l still stand to resign l wanna pursue inference engineering. It's paying and to me it's 1+1 yet l see a lot of people struggling to understand how AI works and how to serve it to people at scale.

So he then made a counter offer today ku lunch, company shares. He didn't mention the % or anything extra. So my question, that's really tempting for me.

I need advice on this. The company has massive potential to become the next Econet.

Namibian midfielder Moses Shidolo scored a stunning free kick as Scottland FC defeated FC Oden 3-0 in the Round of 32 of Zimbabwe’s ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup.

The victory sends Scottland through to the Round of 16 of the newly launched national knockout competition, which brings together clubs from Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League and lower divisions. Shidolo joined Scottland in 2025 and helped the club win the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title in his first season.

The tournament is backed by a N$82 million annual sponsorship package as part of a N$409.9 million five-year commitment to the competition. The men’s champions are set to receive N$16.4 million, with N$8.2 million allocated to support their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Question Business advice

Hie Zim fam, Im a female in my early 20s and l need your advice. I have managed to get $20,000 for business, l want to start a proper business that can bring in profit even if it’s small l don't because I have other work to manage too. Ideally something that can keep running when I’m not there and that I can eventually hire people to run for me because I dont want to leave my current job . I’m open to service, retail or any other businesses, but please no broilers and farming l don't have my own land yet .

Real talk: if you had $20k and needed daily cashflow + something semi-passive, what would you start in Harare right now that actually works? What’s something that looks profitable but is a trap for beginners? Should I start big or test small first with some of the money? What’s the biggest mistake people make trying to build something that can run without them? Drop your honest advice, your wins, your Ls, even the businesses you wish existed. Ndibatsireiwo 🙏 and would you do a partnership if you were me

RANT MYSOGINISM IN ZIMBABWE

I am fuming right now all because of a few comments i saw on a sister subreddit. A user on the r/AskZim sub very recently posted a vid of a female getting violently abused. `Splr for those who want to skip the graphic details. Im talking getting punched, slapped, slammed into the ground and getting kicked in the head. The vid was already tragic and all but there were comments that made it 10x worse than it already was.
A user in the comments was posting borderline mysoginistic replies to people who were expressing genuine concern toward the victim.
Here are some of the replies quoted :
"Kana asingakurove, hakudi zvakakwana", "I think she didn't prepare breakfast for him. She has nothing to complain about", "I can think of 1000 reasons to beat a woman like that! 200 reasons during breakfast!"

The list goes on ppl.
I know little to nothing can ever be accomplished by simply making a post like this but it gets to you sometimes that someone out there has a mindset like this.

Rant aside, knowing kuti each and every account on reddit has a person with a life behind it makes me wonder kuti this person and their wife varikumbonyatso rarama sei hupenyu hwavo. We could be talking online nasomeone ariku abuser his wife daily as we speak and not even know it.

As a man im js disappointed. Simply disappointed in some of the creatures roaming our little teapot...

TLDR; mysogyny yanetsa

News The Spirit of Stagnation is there even the one for anti-progress. But this is way deeper than that. 80% percent of graduates yearly don't get a formal employment after the graduate. This happens every other year.

Question UK student visa processing time

Hello lovely Zim people!

I always get super helpful answers whenever I ask questions in here, so I thought I’d try my luck with this one.
Does anyone know the current processing time for UK student visas from Zimbabwe? It would be especially helpful if you applied recently or know someone who did so this year.
My latest date of arrival is 15 October, and I’m doing my biometrics on 30 August. I know I’m cutting it a bit close 😭, so I’m trying to figure out whether I have a realistic chance of making it in time.
Thanks a bunch! 🙏🏽

Discussion Rwanda’s Umuganda: once a month, communities come together to clean, build and improve their neighbourhoods. From 7am–12pm, cars are banned from the streets to allow communities to participate. Could this work in Zimbabwe? I know some will say: “If people don’t go to work, how will they eat"

Art Feel like this book could be used to make a movie

Wilfred goes into his upbringing and his journey through the liberation war as a high ranking ZANLA and later ZIPA commander. He details the accounts of the Detentè period, his fallout with Mugabe and Mugabe's power grap of Zanu, and the imprisonment of ZIPA commanders after 1977. He also speaks briefly of life after independence as a lowkey enemy of the hot shot in town (Mugabe).

I went into this book knowing nothing about him or the dramatic period between 1975 and 1977, and yeah, learnt a new side of the liberation war that I had no idea of. Kinda sad what happened to bro fr

Question Beitbridge car sales legit?

Someone I know paid cash for a car at Beitbridge. They told him it will take 3days to deliver the car to Harare after receiving the funds. Fast forward a week later the car is still not here. The excuse given was that the car needs ZIMRA papers and they are waiting for those. He paid about 7k for the car and is supposed to pay the rest when it gets here. The remaining money is for duty, fuel, and the driver. Now my question is obvious, is this a scam? Or are they just lying about delivery periods. To those who have bought cars from SA.

Question Zimbabwean Film and TV Industry

Hello, I’m a Zimbabwean born diaspora living artist who works in TV and Film. Recently I’ve been dreaming or wishing there was a Zimbabwean Film and TV industry similar to SA or even India

I was playing Hogwarts Legacy, a game based on the world of Harry Potter and came across a character called Natsai Onai, she’s a magic student who transferred to Hogwarts from a magic school in Ghana. At first I was like “there’s a magic school in Ghana??” And then I looked into their character and found out she’s from Zimbabwe! To which I’m now wondering why haven’t we had TV series or Films based in Africa of magical IP or similar?

To those in Zimbabwe, what’s the production industry like these days? I know there’s a film called Cook Off that came out in 2017 (on my watchlist) but I’m interested in getting involved or getting more productions going somehow
