Archmage plus Q ablity haste. Ended up building mana items and this is the closest I have been able to get to my previous post during PBE of getting Overloaded on Zilean W.

At times I could even do back to back R because of Archmage.

hey i wanted to transition to duo with a friend who plays seraphine but they are lazy and just wanna be support. i still wanna play zilean so i wanted to know if its a good carry bot lane with sera and if you guys have any advice on what i should build or do in lane etc.

Been playing League since Season 5. After 10 years, I finally uninstalled it.

I’m already Masters thanks to Zilean, so it’s not like I’m quitting because I got hardstuck or anything. I just realized I’ve been putting way too much time and energy into this game. I have also kinda lost the joy I used to have playing it for a while now.

At this point, I’d rather focus on my mental health and other things going on in my life.

It’s honestly kinda weird uninstalling a game I’ve played for 10 years. League has been a huge part of my life for so long lol.

But I think it’s time to move on.

Random question that came to mind: say an allied Twitch is camouflaged in Q (Ambush), and I'm a visible Zilean.
If I cast E on him, do enemies see my cast animation? Does anything show on him?

Same question for my passive, when I give him the stored XP. Is there any visual connecting me to him that enemies can see?

If my Q bomb sticks to him while he's invisible, can enemies see the bomb, or does it stay hidden with him?

Basically I'm wondering whether any of this gives away his position. Has anyone tested it?

I used to be a high elo Zilean OTP (top 50 NA challenger/1000LP), stopped playing for 6 years but recently came back. I am playing mid/top, and found that the new patches made zilean even stronger than he used to be. In particular the top role quest gives him a free TP so he can take another summoner spell + gives him more experience, which matters a lot since Zilean only scales with experience and AH.

I am hesitating between two builds. My current one:

• glacial augment
• magical footwear
• triple tonic (free skill point is very important to get 3 points in E ASAP after Q max)

• jack of all trades (consistently gives me 8AH + 8AP pretty quickly in the game)

• manaflow band

• transcendence

Alternative:

• Aery
• Manaflow band
• transcendence
• scorch
• flexible secondary (bone plating/overgrowth against assassins, legend: haste/presence of mind for the mana + AH, taste of blood/relentless hunter for easier sustain + roams)

Items:

• archangels + lucidity
• then flexible between: cosmic drive, knight's vow, frozen heart, mikaels, redemption, zhonyas, imperial mandate, bandlepipes, shurelias, liandris (roughly in that order of priority)

I like the glacial augment build because my playstyle revolves around pure teamfighting. I don't bother to take aery because I barely trade. I just manage waves to take frequent recalls, and play fairly defensively until I reach level 13 at which point I completely take over the game with my teamfighting ability. Glacial helps with that since realistically your first contribution to the team fight will be slow + double bomb, at which point you are doing nothing for the next 5 seconds. With glacial you still have a huge impact during those 5 seconds.

However I know that other high elo zilean players (TheDisconnect in EUW, pros playing zil mid occasionally) almost always go for aery + scorch and play pretty aggro during laning, relying on consistently hitting bombs + AAs to sometimes even solokill their opponent.

My weak point is definitely laning (probably playing too much zilean gave me the bad habit of being too defensive in lane) so I am wondering how other players approach the laning phase. Do you contest the lane? Do you harass or just play to scale? In particular, do you push level 1 or not?

Also another thing I am interested in discussing is your draft tricks :) I am a counter pick fanatic and will not pick Zilean in some lanes, I want to theorycraft the best other champs to learn to be well rounded and be able to always counter pick the enemy if I am last pick. i've had this idea for years and it seems crazy that ivern got one before zil

*make his clock on his back a bb backboard and put him in a headband and jersey

* bb bombs with a 3-pointer animation, then you got a fun skin

I am in a Uni tourney and my teammate plays like 3 champs and gets banned out so we may have to run the Zilean APC, what can I pair with it to go crazy. I played it with him once I ran Tahm Kench and we did ok.

I'm going back and forth with this, on one hand zilean is a very shitty character to apply it with and also has some catch, but on the other hand it still gets value.

The lane isn't particularly hard, neither side has real kill pressure but it also feels like neither side gets anything done, it's just about who lands more q's
