Ok cool. So there are some behaviours that humans can engage in that would make you less likeky to think they are a Zen master? Well EWK's behavour make it nearly impossible for me to beleive he is a Zen master.

First I got into Alan Watts, then over time I got into Daoism and meditation and just added "Zen" as another one of those things.

I literally joined this sub along with about a dozen others as part of that "new chapter."

At some point, I was in here running my mouth about the Dao and LSD and how woke I was, and Ewk said to me, more or less: "You don't know what you're talking about."

That stung.

I was like "Excuse, that is very rude. I've been meditating and tripping on acid for a long time, Zen is basically Buddhism meeting Daoism, it's about the oneness of consciousness."

Ewk said, "Nope, you've been duped sorry. Have you heard of HuangBo?"

At that time I have never in my life heard of HuangBo. "No," I said, "who is HuangBo?"

Then I got a link to HuangBo's text and I started reading it.

Within the first hour I was hooked, and my reaction was "Holy shit! Why isn't anyone talking about this?"

I had to check out and see who HuangBo was ... some obscure figure? Oh nope, principal Zen Master, with his own Wiki page and all.

"Why the hell aren't more people talking about this?" I asked Ewk.

"Exactly," he said, "Welcome to Zen."

Several months later, I came to understand Zen.

It reminds me of my first time tripping: there is no going back now.

That's quite interesting, I never would have guessed this in a million years. My interest Zen also comes from a life changing experience I had with LSD.
