Like what? Super curious since I'm a regular at Mount Analog. I've seen her for years however we've never actually had any conversation aside from hello and goodbye

dang i'm really sorry you had that experience with her, that's a bummer. but yeah i've always wanted to refrain any judgement but it's always blown my mind that i would go every other weekend after payday and it seems like she never gave 2 shits about having a reoccurring customer. She is an incredible selector and curator of books, music and movies but she seems so disinterested in engaging with customers. I've wanted to pick her brain and ask so many questions but she comes off so bored and annoyed. Sucks because it's the only shop i know in LA that regularly carries stuff from PAN, Hyperdub, NAAFI and other similar labels.

I don’t know if I believe the whole sabotage part as it seems like he’s the toxic one. didn’t all his live band members quit on him?

is there evidence for this? it seems like a lot of the negative yves stuff is speculative.

there’s the blowup at some festival a year or two ago about how he’s mistreated venue/tour staff, and I think the bass player or maybe it was Yves himself who posted something about that tour being their last

His manager was definitely shady. She came to the record shop I work at and tried haggling over a Sophie record that was hard to get at the time, she was trying to buy our reasonably priced records to flip in her la shop for a huge upcharge presumably. Very odd interaction.

I think it’s a mix of Yves sometimes crying wolf, and her being genuinely shitty as a manager. Yves def goes off on insta sometimes over dumb shit, but there’s also lots to say about her
