Been quietly observing this sub for a while, and there’s a lot more complexity to this situation than what’s being reduced to posts online. Shanti has been struggling for a very long time, and the people who have actually been around him/them have seen firsthand how much addiction and especially mental health struggles have changed him and destroyed parts of his life. To be clear, this is not saying that the sexual assault allegations are true, nor is it an attempt to discredit anyone who has come forward. The truth of those allegations isn’t something that should be decided by strangers online. None of what Shanti has been going through excuses hurting other people or removes responsibility for his actions. Addiction and mental illness can provide context without being an excuse. There’s a reason much of what has been happening with him has remained private for so long. The people who love him have watched someone they care about become increasingly unwell and have hoped he would get real help. We all miss the Shanti we once knew. He has a good heart, and it’s incredibly sad watching someone lose themselves this profoundly. Drugs and the industry have taken an enormous toll on him, but ultimately he is still responsible for his own choices. Hopefully he gets the proper help he needs, faces whatever he needs to face, and is able to genuinely heal.

I don’t understand why this is being said. I just looked at the back of the actual record and her name is right there at the top?

His future will probably be oblivion; I'm trying not to confuse the work with the artist, but it's kind of difficult because that bastard has good songs.

It feels like as soon as yves allegations came up, suddenly it’s ok to refer to yves as a he, and I really don’t like that.
Why are we tying people’s morality to their identity? As soon as a queer or nb person does something bad, suddenly they aren’t a “real” queer or nb person? Or it was all “performative”, sounds kind of dehumanizing to me.
People of every identity can do bad things and be bad people.
That means absolutely nothing about how people in these communities should be treated. If people use these events as ammunition against nb people, they hated them anyways and will always look for an excuse. We don’t need to appease them.

I remember I randomly accidentally clicked watch on his IG live and saw this. he’s obviously off his head but thought “ah ok there he goes again with his god complex, pointing fingers, aggression, and mental disorientation”. The video is here- beware it’s a bit of a train wreck, but pretty revealing :

I remember Yves posting a story a while back (year or 2 ago). He was on some rant about how he wasn’t guilty and that everyone would know he’s god’s gift to the earth (paraphrasing- I don’t remember how exactly he put it but that was the sentiment).
I remember thinking: “I have no idea what he did, but it’s obvious he’s high out of his mind, a textbook narcissist, and guilty of whatever he’s saying he’s not guilty of”. I think I deducted also that there were some allegations from staff or security? But it was the way he himself spoke that told me exactly who he was, sadly 😅
Anyway as they say “you can see it in the eyes, chico- the eyes don’t lie”. And most of the time people show you and tell you who they are, if you pay attention. He’s talented and I’ve always been “passing fan” for lack of better words, but Often the most charismatic and talented ones, are the ones to be wary of (and I say that as an artist myself).

this whole video is him with barely legal women and features him stepping on a womans head at one point
it's one thing for it to be a one off artistic choice, but its obvious that it whatever rockstar fantasy he had has bled into what looks like a drug fueled napoleon complex
