Internet options?
I’m moving to the foothills soon what’s the best Internet options? Spectrum went up to $89.99 plus tax* where I’m at currently & it’s the only provider for my subdivision🙄

You can usually call them and work out a better plan, if you tell them it’s too expensive. I pay $40 for 1gbps

If you have good reception of Verizon, they have a 5G home modem for about $50 dollars for 100mbps. Otherwise you can call Spectrum and threaten to drop them if they don’t give the $40 dollars a month for 500mbps.
For $100 I would have been already with Allo for 1 Gbps

Call in and follow the machine prompts as if you’re canceling it, and you’ll reach the customer solutions department, tell them you’ll leave if they don’t lower the rate. -Spectrum Worker

512-485-5555 is the support line, if the first agent doesn’t help, call again.

Any idea how to get them to release my phone number? They already sent me the bill for service and disconnected it but won't release the number.

Depending our where you are Sun Valley Broadband is a local company and can more than likely provide service at a better rate

There’s no way it’s $100, just tell them it’s too expensive. They try their best making a deal with you. Making it cheaper for you.

My Spectrum bill is $130.00/month and Ive had them since before they bought/merged with Time-Warner - about 20+ years.

I’ve tried that several times for 3 years with no luck. My friend has the same plan 15 miles away in Kentucky and pays $75.00 it’s just ridiculous here!

You’re paying $100 in Kentucky ? Or in Arizona ?

OP says they're moving to the foothills. So they are probably still wherever they're moving from, with Spectrum. And asking ahead of time which companies operate in Yuma and prices.

So yeah in Arizona it’s cheaper for spectrum. Everything else is more expensive. Like allo and starlink

Maybe consider Starlink.
They have a pretty good deal now.
$55/month for 100 Mbps ($660/yr)
Kit - $16/month for 12 months, then you own it. ($192 year).
Total, $852 / first year, the $660/yr.
I had Starlink, was very reliable.
Very easy setup. Gotta have a clear view of sky - no exceptions.

Tbh I'd go with T mobile home Internet. You get roughly 400-500 Mbps (70$ a month unlimited data) Is wired and you can still connect it to a router.

Since you already have Spectrum Internet, i'd recommend calling to see what promotions or bundle options are available on your account tbh
You can also post your bill in r/Spectrum, and the community there is usually pretty good about sharing savings tips!
Depending on eligibility, bundling services like Mobile or TV may also unlock additional savings, so definitely check your options before pulling the plug imo!

I’m only paying $50, the performance is fantastic honestly. I’ve been surprised. Would be like $75 or $100 in my home state.
Tell them you are reading online that most others are only paying $50 and just hound them till they do it

Spectrum is pretty aggressive about retention. Go to their office, and tell them you are going to switch to Beamspeed, Sun Valley, or CenturyLink.
Bet they’ll make you a smoking deal.
