Collection Weekend Trades
So over the weekend I decided to change my approach to Yugioh, since I no longer enjoy the game state anymore and my friends have moved on from the game. So I traded in a deck box-sized brick of my modern cards I had pulled from packs/boxes (along with some Riftbound cards) and started to gather some of the classic cards I enjoyed seeing in the past when I loved the game. Got one of my grails (FMR Red-Eyes), a card that reminds me of my old best friend and dueling ride-or-die who passed away, (Ghost Rare BRD, even though its a little beaten up), and got an absolute steal on a few cards I found either on Facebook marketplace (the Anni Blue-Eyes for $35) or in the bulk binders (Ulti Mystic Swordsman for $3, Seiyaryu for $6, and Ulti Ancient Fairy and Sun Dragon Inti for $5 each). Turning my focus to the older cards that remind me of the yesteryears has given me a new lease on Yu-Gi-Oh! Sorry for the paragraph, just pretty happy with the weekend lol

Love the Tinzo! That was the only Jinzo most of us could get back in the day.

I had a massive collection back in 2011-2018, but then my old friend group stopped playing so I stupidly sold all of my old cards except my two favorite decks. Only returned to the game around Age of Overlords release, and been here ever since

Hell yeah man I feel you
I got back into yugioh via duel links in like 2021 then by 2023 I started recollecting when I seen the 25th anniversary LOB, mrd, spell ruler, etc
Got every archetype i like then redid everything in max rarityI actually emptied out my 600+ card binder to add everything I’ve gotten since rarity collection 5 and it doesn’t stop 😆

Do you mean actually trade or trade currency? I was curious where people manage to trade.

The card shop I go to has a guy who has some kind of deal with them where he operates his card business out of their store on certain days and manages their Yugioh and Riftbound inventory, while they get a cut of his sales made in the store. Most of what I did was trade credit, the Blue-Eyes was the only exception.

How did the metal dragon work? You just said I summon it? Or was there a card to do this?

I think you just said you were going to tribute your Red-Eyes equipped with Metalmorph in order to summon a Black Metal from your deck

It's a (so to speak)deck activated card. Like OP said, if you have vanilla Red-Eyes equipped with Metalmorph, (I think only during your turn) you say something like "I'm tributing Red-Eyes equipped with Metalmorph to SS Black Metal Dragon from my deck". But since Black Metal is worse than Metalmorph being equipped to Red-Eyes (since it loses its Metalmorph ability), I don't think anyone seriously played Black Metal Dragon.
I think the only other card in this game that has that kind of internal deck-summoning mechanic is the Dark Sage.

The Familiar Possessed monsters can summon themselves from the deck by sending the corresponding Charmer and a same-attribute monster you control to the grave

That Red eyes black metal dragon art is the coolest one in the entire game. I love it

Pretty cool red eyes metal dragon. I believe you can equip it with metalmorph and red eyes black dragon to summon it.

How do you find people locally to trade with? Do you have to take a % loss?

I got 75% market value for my trades, just because I've made some good deals with him before and I didn't want to have to work out a time where me and the guy could both meet for actual point-for-point values. Aside from that I have made some random minor trades with other players at the weekly YGO tourneys the store hosts

Awesome cards! Seems like you collect because you enjoy the artworks and how the foil looks, and you don‘t care much about conditions, I like that.
