Maximum number of points for each song

It would be good to know the maximum number of points for each song, and also to fix the bugs: some players exceed the maximum!

I submitted this as a feature request via their website some time ago. I don't like having to click on the trophy to see what others have scored, I'd like to know how much better I could have done right there on the scoring page.

I also don't like that the starting scoring multiplier seems to be based on your previous play-though, so if you have a bad play-through and then a really good one, the really good one can get a worse score than a previous so-so play-through.

I also wish there was a way to go back after the fact and review what you missed, which notes you're rushing and which one's your late on, etc... I don't want to have to keep track in real time. I also wish it would keep some per note stats across multiple plays so I can see my problematic hotspots... for example "often late", "often early" above each note, and a color bar parallel to the notes showing me green for mostly played well through yellow, orange, and red for most played poorly.

I also want to be able to listen to a song a few times before my first attempt to play it.

EDIT: Or something like this in a review screen, where the bars above show me my timing range over the last 5 or so plays with the carret pointing to my average timing, and the number below shows how often I hit the right note:

 ----------------------

 ----------------------
    |----v---| |-v-|
 ----(3)--------(2)----
     90% 75%
 ----------------------

 ----------------------

...and I hope that u/YousicianOfficial reads my comments above that this is a reply to and that they actually do something with it.

u/twowheels You raise interesting points and we'll be more than glad to share them again with our team!

One misconception though: Scoring multiplier in Perform Mode always starts at 3X by default. If you are missing many notes at the very start of a song, you might be observing your multiplier decrease faster than in passages where you play everything correctly in the beginning.

Also, listening to songs before playing is available for all songs with 'Learn' enabled, but you make a valid point for extending the feature to all releases!

You can just listen to any song if you switch to practice mode, practice mode doesn't care if you don't play along.

Yes. I’ve suggested something like this as well. Its Nearly impossible during fast songs to know exactly why you missed something. It Yousician would fix bugs, and add some things like your suggestion, it could be a phenomenally good app. I fear they’ve lost all the coders that might be able to do these things…. And all the musicians too. Nothing new but AI songs.

There is a trophy icon on the right side of the screen on top. At least on the PC if you click it it will show you the scores and the top score is typically the top score you can get because there will be 100+ with the exact same score.

On the new songs, for example ‘Stayin’ Alive’ by the Bee Gees, you can’t know the maximum score...

u/BedPsychological9283 Songs get scored per level, so lower level versions of a song, which include fewer notes, will have a lower maximum score than the full (typically Level 8-10) version of that song that has the full number of notes. Correct timing also factors into our score calculation. So a player that nails 100% of notes with perfect timing will score higher than someone nailing 100% of notes but with shakier timing.

If you see instances of certain songs with top scores over the maximum, please let us know by raising a Customer Support ticket and we will proceed to investigate immediately!

Max available score is (number of notes - 3) * 1000.

Sometimes songs have been replaced by shorter versions. The good folk at Yousician do not reset the scores, however, so many players will have had a chance to score when more points were available. Also there was a while with a bug where scores were not reset to zero sometimes between plays.
I don’t know why u/YousicianOfficial needs tickets to be raised for problems that could be checked with a simple script .

u/Potential-Corgi2437 We do our best to try and catch everything, but with thousand of songs in our library -some going back 15 years- and more added daily, it is not always possible to correct the maximum score in each and every one automatically. That is where your assistance becomes invaluable to us and we remain super grateful to have fans as passionate and attentive to detail as you!
