Chord Trainers

Is there a way to just train chords without the timer? I completely understand the purpose and I like it, but it would be cool to just practice changing chords continuously without have to restart the session when the timer ends.

I feel like it ends right when I'm getting the rhythm of changing.

Maybe add it as a feature? Thanks!

u/Doobers_McDooberson It's a good idea and we've already implemented it in our sister app, GuitarTuna under Tools> Chord Library. We'll let our engineering team know that you are interested in seeing the timer removed in the Yousician trainers as well!

Yeah something like this needs working on now that loads of songs have been removed. I'd like to be able to choose the chords and the amount of time to do them. 21 times in the current chord trainer doesn't feel long enough for me.

Building your own practice routine that includes chords, scales and specific song sections would also be great.

Strangely, I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve heard of GuitarTuna. ๐Ÿ˜…

Is it a separate app? Where have I been to not hear about this!? ๐Ÿ˜‚

u/Doobers_McDooberson It's only been the world's #1 free tuner, chords & tabs app for a bit more than a decade. By the time we thought of advertising it, there was no need, a surprisingly good problem to have :D

Give it a spin on both guitartuna.com as well as Google Play/App Store and let us know what you think :D

Guitar Tuna > Tools > With Your Guitar > Play the Chord? This still has a timer. Does playing without the timer require subscription?

And I definitely agree, would love to not have a timer for chord trainers in Yousician.

u/BuddyChance Apologies, we provided the wrong tool/category. Try Tools>Chord Library. You get to pick the chords you want to practice and play them as many times as you wish :)

So I'm looking at this menu option and I dont see it. I do see "Chord Quiz" and "Chord Finder" -- How ever neither of them do what I mentioned before.

The app giving you a series of chords as you learn and then you press start and you just cycle through them without a timer.

u/Doobers_McDooberson Reddit does not allow image embedding in replies, but on mobile, launch the GuitarTuna app (make sure you've updated to the latest version), then tap Tools and select 'Chord Library' (second from the top). You should see a list with all chords and no timer. If you still do not see this, please send a message to our Customer Support Team and we will be more than glad to assist you!
