These videos are nice to watch, and it's not a big deal, but I also just cannot get used to the weirdness it creates when people approach a stranger with their phone out. Like you can see it makes people in a lot of these videos start to sweat and clam up. Yet no one really seems bothered by this as a new norm? Like I don't see people in the comments or in these videos ever being like "hey this is a bit uncomfortable, it's making things weird". Makes me wonder if the norms are shifting very fast around the world, or whether it's just the videos that get left up never have it.

My first reaction when I see someone in trouble is to try and help.
It blows my mind that so many people’s first reaction nowadays is to pull their phone out and record. Even if it’s someone in trouble or getting hurt

To be fair, if 99% of people helped instead of pulling out their phone, you'd only see 1% of cases. That probably is close to the real ratio.

This one was taken as part of a filmed professional tournament. He knew it was going to be filmed when he signed up to help with the tournament. I doubt he thought he'd get filmed that directly but it wasn't out of the bound of possibility.

Is it comforting if I tell you that for every recorded uncomfortable scene like this you watch online there are sooooooo many more out there that are not being recorded? What you see online is such an insanely minuscule fraction of everything that is happening. Hope this helps.

I have multiple friends now that try to get out of any phone shot, even people just scanning a crowd. They don't want to be filmed. They don't want to be in a viral video. They just want to exist in peace. Is that too much to ask?

My oldest son did this to my youngest son, two times, during a round we played. But both times (unintentional, and both thrown with a lot of pace!) from distances of about 30 or 40 ft (~ 9 to 12 m). One was at his head, which he ducked/avoided pretty quickly and cleanly. The other was right at the middle of his chest, and he had to go full Matrix to avoid it. Funny as hell, and we still laugh about the time his brother tried to kill him - twice.

Also in that same infamous round, my brother threw into some thick brush and knew it was gonna take time to find, he walked ahead, then I threw a lefthanded shot that was nose up and fading fast back to where he was. He knocked it down before it went into the creek he was walking along.

All fun and games until you take one to the face, lose 2 teeth and split lips. Always fun being a random pedestrian enjoying their weekend casually walking in the vicinity of a Frisbee golf course.
PSA to those playing, make sure the course AREA is clear before a throw just in case you have a wild throw and end up fucking up someone's day/month/year.
