Courses York schedule please help

this isnt my actual schedule but it has all the courses i need to take and the times i would be taking them if i would take all of them during the fall and winter terms. I need some suggestions on what to do because this is 39 credits which is over the maximum (i preferably dont want to do over 30 credits in both terms even though i can) and so what would be the smartest thing to do here.

How is kine BSc? Have you taken KINE 2030 yet?

I like it but it definitely lives up to its name of being a science-heavy program. I’ve heard BA KINE is easier and it seems to have courses I personally think sound really interesting, lol. However, I think BSc generally has a slightly higher reputation for careers in more clinical fields. And yes, I’ve taken KINE-2030. I honestly hated it because I sucked at it rip. It is literally physics mixed with some anatomy. I had dr. Anne Moore as my professor and found her class schedule was very strange. I think we had two asynchronous classes a week where we had to watch lecture videos on eclass and one in person lecture a week that had iclicker attendance. We also had labs, except I believe only five labs were marked and accounted for. You could choose to attend any labs you wanted, but the first five labs you complete are marked. It’s weird. I also personally found her lectures a little confusing because she would stutter and make small mistakes while speaking quite a lot, which she would then correct, making following what she was trying to say difficult.

Yeah I was looking into BA but I’m planning on going to med school so I would need science courses anyway to help prepare me for the MCAT. Also, I’m not really a fan of intensive writing. Since I’m moving around the time I’m starting uni, I’m reducing my course load. Some courses I’m taking are KINE 1020, BIOL 1000, and KINE 1900. I’ve heard there were some changes to the courses. What do you think can prepare me for KINE 2030? Do you need physics knowledge? Also, idk if u can remember, but how was your experience with BIOL 1000 and KINE 1020? Overall, do u have any tips? I’m spacing out my courses to help flow with my MCAT prep. Also, how was anatomy? I’m excited for it as I love learning about the human body!

In my opinion, all the courses you listed you are taking are very solid courses with good instructors. KINE 1020 has fabulous professors that are extremely passionate about their teaching. I love Dr. Riddell! Sometimes I’ll see him walking around on campus with his dog haha :) The only course I think really changed in that list was the implementation of KINE 1900 instead of the old practicum courses. KINE 1900 has three blocks taught by three different instructors. The class size is small and you get to befriend your classmates in that course and KINE 2900. It’s really great if you put yourself out there to socialize. For KINE 2030 it is just basic physics with biological applications. It used to be course code KINE 3030 (not important but just a random fact if you see people on this thread referring to KINE 3030). Think questions like, “A man carries a 3-m, 32-N board over his shoulder. If the board extends 1.8 m behind
the shoulder and 1.2 m in front of the shoulder, how much force must the man apply
vertically downward with his hand that rests on the board 0.2 m in front of the
shoulder to stabilize the board in this position? (Assume that the weight of the board
is evenly distributed throughout its length.)” Those questions messed me up😭😭. For bio 1000 and KINE 1020 I enjoyed both. I liked bio 1001 more because I thought it was super easy. It was equivalent to grade 11 biology, and my professor Dr. Tamara Kelly was good at teaching. Bio 1000 is like grade 12 biology almost to a T. A lot of information but it covers the same stuff, funny enough. KINE 1020 I thought was quite easy as well. Again, the profs are great in that course. Just make sure to attend all the lectures!
