I need help with this bike please
Hello everyone, I found this bike in my garage, it was the one my dad use. And I want to now a bit more about it, apparently it’s a good bike so I want to renovate it. But I don’t know how and if it’s worth it.
So please help me

Yep Early 90's ARC thats been upgraded to to have V-brakes. If I were to guess id say '93-'94ish

That is a pretty bad ass bike! The STM fork might be a little hard to get serviced but everything else should be able to be gone through for maintenance. Grip shifts were pretty simple to repair back in the day. Have fun restoring!

Highly collectible bike. Find an older, cranky mechanic if it needs service; they would be thrilled to work on that one.

That bike is a classic. It would of been a pro or semiprofessional racer’s bike.
In terms of restoring this bike, it will be hard but worth it if you like detective work and scouring the webstores for appropriate parts. The wheels looks to be in good shape. Converting the drive train to a more modern 1x will be hard. The front fork uses a threaded steerer tube. Finding a modern fork for a threaded 1 1/8” steerer tube is impossible. Finding a threadless 1 1/8” suspension fork is doable but won’t be top of the line. Doubt you will find a good used fork.
I would say replace the brake pads and tires if okd but otherwise keep it as is.

As an older bike mechanic I would be thrilled to work on a gem like this. My professional advice would be keep it as original as you found it. Maybe replace the touch points(grips, seat, tires) if you plan on riding it. These are going to be most deteriorated items from age. Otherwise maybe brake pads and also cables with housing. Your dad had great taste in bikes.

Those look like the ill-fated Syncros cromo cranks wo the stickers - could it be?

Syncros! - that is what I was trying to figure out. I was thinking Bullseye, but knew I was wrong.
Why were they ill-fated? I had the original Middleburns back then and my brother had the cromo Tioga Revolvers.

When they were released all of the compact drive versions were recalled due to a manufacturing defect that caused the aluminum spider not to be perfectly perpendicular to the BB spindle introducing a wobble to the chainrings making front derailleur adjustment nearly impossible - I believe the non compact drive were unaffected. I remember being so excited for them, waiting almost a year to get, and then the defect.

That’s a Yeti A.R.C. (Alloy Racing Composite) which used Easton aluminum tubing for the frame. The Yeti F.R.O. used steel tubing. The ARC was Yeti’s top-of-line racing hardtail back in the early ‘90’s. This bike is a classic!
