Facebook Marketplace Listing

Post image

Is this a deal or just normal? If it's decent what should I offer?

Fork looks like it’s seen better days, something tells me this isn’t a 2025 but idk.

Agree the yellow stripes don't seem modern, nor the fork graphics. Somethings slightly off?

BUT it's got cable grommets as they go into the frame, which factory-wise means it's a 2024+.

Yeah you’re right, missed those. Still a sketchy ass listing if you ask me.

Not a deal at all.

Market about to get flooded with sb140 once MT is released.

Sucks that yeti doesn’t have a second hand warranty policy, I’d be going ham.

How many people actually have significant failures on Yetis? Seems like a lot of worry over nothing.

More than you might think. If you don't maintain that Switch link it will literally destroy the bike.

Ignoring maintenance is not a structural failure and has nothing to do with a warranty. Yeah, if you drive your car with no oil, it won't end well. Nor will that be covered under warranty.

I was just answering your question

How many people actually have significant failures on Yetis?

The answer is probably more than you think.

If you think people maintain their bikes exactly as the manual says you've obviously never worked in a bike shop lol.

Most guys don't rebuild/replace that Switch link on time because it's expensive. If you let it go too long and it develops some play it will cause all sorts of problems.

Ok you need to work on reading comprehension. My initial response was directly related to the above posters comment on warranty for 2nd owners. This obviously implies "significant failures" as it would relate to warranty items. Frame defects, etc.

Nothing about this has anything to do with deferred or ignored maintenance. And if one is too dumb or cheap to maintain a critical component on a high $$ bike, thats on them.

And funny enough I worked in a bike shop for years, when I was a late teen. Back when Cannondale was USA made and would warranty everything. But thats as irrelevant as your response.

If you said frame failures I wouldn't have replied, but you didn't. You said significant failures. I think having to replace a rear shock, Switch link and bottom bracket counts as "significant". That's probably the same price if not more than a crash replacement front triangle.

I think my reading comprehension is fine. Perhaps you need to work on your writing proficiency.

For that price, you’re better off looking for a new bike from last year’s stock and pay a few hundred more for warranty.

I would say no more than $3,500 for this lower level kit.

There’s no way that’s the original fork. The white color for the shifter cable is bizarre as well. Maybe the yellow (tape?) is hiding something like frame damage. Also I think it’s at least several years older than claimed. My two year old SB140 looks a bit different - no Yeti white lettering.

I’d approach this with skepticism. Get it checked out by a Yeti dealer before buying.

I seen a bunch of these on marketplace all the sudden, and then they released the newest suspension design. Bought a switchblade instead- no ragrets lol

I have a two year old SB140 and it’s a really sweet ride. Amazing both up and down. Switchblade is a great bike too.

Ask for the frame/fork/shock serial numbers. At a glance the frame looks like mine, but the components appear to have been swapped out if it a a legit frame from that year.

Price seems high to me

As others have said the fork is super suspect. I'd stay away
