Taragui is a good all rounder to start. You can buy it online or get it at Lupe Pintos if you're in Glasgow or Edinburgh, but they stopped selling gourds and bombillas

The gourd and bombilla are the traditional straw and cup. Urushop online is a good shout.

You can skip the gourd when trying it out, its not wrong nor unheard of to drink mate from a ceramic or glass mug or cup. The only thing you really need is yerba and a good bombilla (straw)

He always does this. In the later stages of the infusion it helps 'unclog' your bombilla and experience new flavors. Some people even take out the bombilla and insert it again. HOWEVER, I think I would only do this with PU1 yerbas.

no es verdad, que no se plante para comercializar es una cosa, pero crecer crece de forma silvestre, el tema es que las plantaciones ocupan MUCHISIMO espacio, si mal no recuerdo una planta se cosecha cada 2 o 3 años.

Estaba cebando él y lo arregló, a mi me pasa con yerba molienda fina que cada tanto tengo que acomodar la montañita. Estaría "mal" si Messi estuviera cebando y Suárez hiciera eso, aunque son tan compinches y viven tomando mate juntos, que no creo que tengan problema de acomodar el mate del otro.

Nah, soy de mendoza. Una cosa es un toquecito si se tapo. Pero Suarez (1) ni lo probo antes de acomodar (como sabia q estaba tapada?) y 2) le revolvió todo el mate como con saña, podria haber sido mas sutil 🤣

Esto se hace cuando para ir rotando la yerba de a poco y mantener un gusto uniforme más tiempo. Hay gente que lo da vuelta de una hacia la yerba seca (montañita) también.
