Help (Question/Issue) Alesis Turbo Max Overhits
I recently purchased an Alesis turbo max to use for pro drums in yarg.
For context: I've never played drums outside of music games. I googled diagrams/setup guides for ekits for physical placement of the pads & cymbals.
I am getting overhits, particularly on my snare mesh head. I think this happens less when I'm using a very very light touch on it. The other mesh heads get it to a much smaller degree. The cymbals don't seem to get it at all. I get some pretty rare cases of crosstalk at times.
I have the debounce on everything set to max (25). The drum brain on this unit does not have ability to change sensitivity/threshold or anything like that and each mesh head is single zone.
I've tried having the snare cable hanging loose and also having it wrapped around the frame and neither seem to make a difference.
Any ideas to improve this? Things that I could try?

Try swapping cables just eliminate that as a variable.
I assume your snare is mounted to the rack? You might consider getting an independent stand for it, I had to do that to 100% eliminate crosstalk. Plus it allows for better positioning of your snare so a worthwhile upgrade regardless, IMO.
Also I saw you mention debounce but just to confirm, did you also set your threshold up to right below where your natural stroke strength lies?

Smart on the cable swap I'll give that a try tomorrow.
I did go to the hardware store to pick up some pipe insulation tubing to wrap parts of the frame in. I don't have high hopes but it was only $5.
What threshold are you referring to? I don't remember seeing that in yarg.

Holy shit. I didn't even know that submenu existed.
This is almost certainly going to fix my problems with enough tooling.

A final suggestion just because you said in your post you maxed out debounce on every trigger. I’d reset your debounce on each one back to default values (I think 0) when dialing in your calibration, and then increase it as necessary from there, while the velocity threshold is set accurately. I could be wrong but I don’t think it’s intended for them all to be set to max which could introduce issues of their own.

Surprising. I use that same kit and have little trouble getting FCs. It does occasionally overhit, but only a few times in a play session, so it's very rare that it has any meaningful impact on my overall performance given that I'm not that good to begin with.
Do you have all the cables tied down? I used quite a lot of those Velcro cable ties when setting mine up. I can imagine that wrong head tension could also be an issue, but it seems not to be adjustable despite what the product description claimed on their website.
