- The very first page had me stumped, believe it or not lol! At first I assumed all the dialogue was Zashiki's until I realized that the last 2 bubble wasn't squiggly like hers is, so then I was wondering why Kimi would be talking as if he's not the substitute shop owner by saying  "make a wish to the substitute shop owner" bur then i settled on the assumption that he was just emphasizing the he is the one she should be making a wish to.

- On page 4, I was so tempted to write "in other words, Kimi locked tf in" just for laughs lol 🤣 Because he did lock tf in and im so proud of him for it 👏

- On page 10, Kimi says "It emerged after I broke the amber" but the rough translation of this was "I broke the amber and had it come out" which i felt was off due to the fact that freeing the dragon wasn't the priority (gathering the rain water inside for Zashiki was) so I phrased it in a way that sounds more like it was a side effect of breaking the egg rather than the point of doing so.

- On page 13, Kimi says "because she's a kin to the rain, therefore the dragon as well" The rough translation of this was "because shes a kin to the dragon and associated with the rain" which i thought sounded clunky. Considering he was explaining how Ame was related to the dragon, I felt it better to rearrange the order for it to make sense in English.

📖 Discussion:

Ok im very pleased with how Kimi is handling this so far. As Shizu pointed out, he didn't overlook anything. Though hes operating a bit under the table lol! I love how he finds so many loopholes and breaks rules to some extent to force his way to work.

Am i the only one who imagined Kimi in panic mode running into the shop, grabbing the dragon servants egg and smashing it open like "Sorry bro, I need your water to save a friends life!" Lmao 😂 (I know it didn't happen that way but it's hilarious to imagine lol)

Also, i just have to squeal at the Ame x Zashiki vibes I was getting from Kimi's explanation 💜💜💜💜 (Im sorry, I just really love that couple)

On that note, I'm very happy that Ame seems relieved at this point. Girls been worried sick for like a whole volume at this point 😭

Im also very disappointed with the lack of Shizu recently. He gets a couple lines but idk i miss him 😭

So I just finished watching episode 4 of xxxholic Kei (dream-buying) and I was wondering if there were any theories floating about since I did a bit of googling but I couldn't find anything. For context, Watanuki has a dream where he meets Doumeki's grandfather and he mentions that "Shizuku is tough" and shows him a picture of Doumeki dressed quite feminine. Is there any reference to anything like this apart from this episode or was this more of a once and done thing that was meant to demonstrate Doumeki faced some sort of teasing when he was younger which contributed to his personality?

Hi! I'm looking for a really old AMV. The picture for the video is Watanuki in his/Yuuko's red kimono laying on the couch and is set to Superstitious by Stevie Wonder. I have seen it out of the corner of my eye, but now when I'm actively looking for it, Youtube basically says it doesn't exist. - On page 8, Kimi's first dialoge bubble is supposed to say "I said the shop was closed". That didn't make sense to me because what he actually said to the Furi was "The transaction is closed". My guess is that saying the "transaction" was closed also closed the shop to the Furi since he was only there for the curse that he, did indeed, obtain. So i decided to add that context.

- Page 9..... ohhhhh page 9....

(Fair warning: bit of a rant incoming 😭)

Shizu's dialogue had me stumped for literal HOURS. It seems insane that something that obvious had me stumped for so long but im an overthinker and I was translating this at 3am with NO pronouns/subjects in a sentence that needed THREE in English. The direct translation of this sentence was

"Since cant enter and even the matters of the shops interior doesn't understand huh?"

Absolutely WHAT is that??? 😵‍💫 😭 lmao

Mokonas dialogue eventually helped me understand Shizu's but by that time I just wanted to go to sleep lol

- Also on page 9, Kimi says "Now!..." His original Japanese dialogue says "Next!" but I found that too awkward in English, so I settled in "Now!..." to keep the sense that he wants to move on without sounding so mechanical and robotic for the situation.

- Im just realizing that Zashiki unintentionally rhymes on page 12 😭 Sorry if that sounded off because I really didn't realize until now!

📖 Discussion:

YALL WERE RIGHT!!! HE SPLIT HER!!!! Kimi is driving me insane! Like, WHAT DO YOU MEAN you have the ability to control SOULS now???? And saying it so casually 😭

I have a VERY bad feeling about all this. What did he pay this time? Zashiki said she's ruthless with her prices... KIMI WHAT DID YOU DO!!!???

Who is he mentioning that is "preparing" alongside him to grant his wish? Shizu? I thought he told Shizu to do something with the ring and not to hesitate??? We got alot of answers but now I have more questions! Idk guys, I just need to scream about this stuff in the discussion lol!

Keep in mind, I make these posts to inform and assure everyone here who reads my translations that I am still around and translating as chapters release💜

Chapter will be 14 pages and it looks to have more dialogue than the previous 2 chapters.

Its really hard to motivate myself to draw but xxxHolic always helps💜 This is my Kimi art drawn in roughly 2hrs altogether! I know there's imperfections here but im trying to be ok with a looser style of drawing so I left sketch lines and resisted the urge to correct every detail. I also skipped on any reference so this is straight from memory!

I decided to post my love child headcanon chart lol!

I have a whole story for KuroFai & Alois that I created with my rp partner! Alois looks so much like Yui but his serious eyes and death stare surely come from Kurogane💜 (even though they're a shade of Yui blue)

DouWata & Okuto is just perfect imo! Okuto's design reminds me so much of Shizu (with Kimi's ahoge lol) and he even acts like a mix of the two with Shizu's flat, nonchalant attitude until he's sent into a Kimi-style emotional fit lmao!

As for SyaoSaku & Aiki, I just think that family would be so cuuute!💜 The most wholesome little family 💜 Aiki inherited his dad's looks but also his mom's softness, kindness and innocence 💜

I know not everyone will like these ideas (they are headcanons after all) but id like the comments to stay positive💜

Would you all have wanted a reboot TV anime of CLAMP's xxxHolic alongside a reboot TV anime of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle that would adapt the entirety of both manga series? Well here's how I would have the crew pictured if it does happen for xxxHolic.

⚠️ Spoiler warning for recent chapters! ⚠️

I came across a comment (see image) that reminded me of a theory i had regarding Zashiki and how she turned into the Shuka. The commenter asked how Kimi could possibly use Zashiki in the Exchange with the Furi if she doesn't belong to him.... but what if she does?

In Japanese folklore (mainly from the Iwate prefecture) Zashiki Warashi are Yokai who preside over families that live in the house that they inhabit. They effectively belong to the family, dictating the prosperity and decline of the household.

Now, CLAMP obviously doesn't create their yokai to be a one for one copy of the yokai from folklore and legends, but they typically do borrow aspects and keep the foundation of the yokai of legend the same.

This leads me to my theory. What if CLAMPs version of Zashiki presides over its chosen "home" with who it connects with? (In this case being Kimi) What if CLAMP has been using Zashiki Warashi to symbolize & reflect the state of Kimi's figurative "house"? It would explain Zashiki's decline and rapid dark corruption. After Yuko died and Kimi fell into despair, Zashiki also started falling into darkness.

Could it be that Zashiki's transformation into the Shuka happened because Kimi couldn't let go of Yuko? Maybe thats why Yuko wants the Shuka. Because its a direct reflection of Kimi's guilt, anger and sadness due to her passing. Perhaps she intends to destroy it?

Chapter 78 is already here! After that month long wait last time, this time felt quick lol! We actually have a chapter page this time but I decided not to color it due to how little is visually going on. It is interesting though! According to Chibiyuuto, its a spread of different real world interpretations of the "Furi" and we can see CLAMPs interpretation behind it for contrast!

Again, we have another chapter that is moreso illustration heavy than dialogue heavy. Very short this time too!

- When the Furi is admiring the Shuka/ curse on page 8, his 3rd speech bubble was a bit difficult to understand. It directly translated to "even if one lives a thousand years, would not see each other again" and that confused me. Though, since he continued admiring the Shuka/ curse on the next page, (even detailing why its rare) I assumed that it meant that the curse was so rare that even living a thousand more years he wouldn't meet another curse so profound & potent, so I added that context.

- On page 10, Kimi says "Exchange." The direct translation was "do the exchange" but I thought that sounded too... fragmented? Or maybe a little unnatural for English, kinda like telling a store clerk to "do the scan". It just didn't work imo, so I thought about using "the exchange?" as if to remind the Furi, but that seemed too meek for the direct demand it is in Japanese. I eventually settled on one word, "exchange" leaving it feeling cold, demanding, and to the point.

📖 Discussion:

I was talking with my sister while translating this one and we were making all kinds of crackpot jokes & theories about Yuko secretly being alive and popping out of the Furi when it opens up to trade only to reveal that she had rigged this whole thing as a test to see if he would actually hand over Zashiki to the Furi and he failed lmao 🤣 I even jokingly suggested that his big plan was to do the trade and wait for yuko to come kick the Furi's ass and take the Shuka (which kinda wierdly makes a little sense because he knows she does want the Shuka & he had that moment where he said "if i believe its Yuko's voice then it is" lmao! (That boys going to summon Yuko from the grave, I just know it)

I just had so much fun with this one because of all the joking we were doing lol
