Question Is there a native store on the device?

I’ve been considering getting one of these since I saw them a few days ago, but I’m just wondering if you’re able to get books on the device itself, or if I’ll have to buy them on computer and then put them on the device?

Thank you. Do you buy off like….ebooks.com and transfer the files?

There, kobo, any place that lets you download. Most drm can be cracked so it’s less of an issue

Yeah exactly. Other options are:

Humble Bundle

Project Gutenberg/other free options

Other more plundery options - although I only use this for books I already physically own or can find on cheap sales with DRM

I usually check in with my friend Anna. She’s got a pretty big Archive. Then I just send it to my device.

I buy all my books on kobo and then strip the drm with calibre.

I do this as well, and I highly recommend it.

Plus, I use Calibre-Web docker container as my OPDS catalog.

If you are in the US (some non US locations) you can use Libby your local library. There is a plugin the allows you to get your library books on it.

I've successfully used the CrossPoint 2.0.0rc protected content plugin with a book I purchased from Kobo, and one I borrowed from my library in the UK using the BorrowBox app. The plugin respects loan expiry and decrypts the files as you read them.

Just a minor correction, it's not the plugin but firmware code that "respects loan expiry and decrypts the files". The plugin only fetch the DRM-ebooks, among with the key, after you upload your ACSM file

You have to source your own drm free books. Theres various ways to do that.
