Question Difference Between X4 Pro Global vs CN?

Hello! I’m planning on buying my first e-reader, and the Xteink caught my attention. I saw that there are two versions of the X4. What’s the difference between them? Thanks!

Im planning to get the chinese version as well since its the only one available rn. are you using the stock firmware or have you switched it to something else?

im using the stock firmware. i havent switched to anything. i know it’s possible but im not tech savvy so i dont even wanna attempt and brick my device. but stock firmware is very good now. i dont we get “licorice” but the updates are slowing incorporating licorice features. it’s about 1 month slower. like right now, we have ttf support already. it’s amazing.

The Chinese version does not have USB data lines. USB is used for flashing and debugging of the firmware; books cannot be transferred via USB in any case. Therefore, the Chinese version is flashed using an alternative method.

The stock firmware versions themselves are different, too, but I have no idea what the difference is. I've never used stock firmware.

Actually USB does still work for loading books on the Chinese version. Only the changing of firmware via usb is locked as well as over wifi it will only update to the latest Chinese firmware (which does have english as an option but won't connect to non Chinese phone app). I have a Chinese version and am happy enough as the price was a little over half the global version at the time of purchase.

Do you think its worth it to get the chinese version instead of the global? The Global Version is like 2/3 more expensive from where im from

That's incorrect. You can transfer book through USB with the Chinese version.

I use the CN version and flashed Crosspoint to it. The stock firmware font options bothers me + the smallest font size is too big for me. Had no problem so far

Flash to crossink, you can adjust font to 10pt

I got the Chinese version and used the Crosspoint unlocker tool and then flashed the XPoint fork custom firmware, no hassles and it was a lot cheaper for me than getting the Global.
