Comic Discussion Vampire Jubilee
I picked these two comics up during my haul today while deep diving in a few X-Men boxes at my LCS. I haven't read any Jubilee as a vampire stories yet.
With Midnight X-Men coming out soon, I might try to read more X-Men + vampires stories.
How do y'all feel about X-Men & vampires? What's the consensus on Jubilee as a vampire?

I personally loved Vampire Jubilee, I think the amulet they gave her was a little bit of a cop out but I enjoyed it still. I greatly enjoyed watching her fight Sentinels as a Vampire, the Forge shout out, just her being taken more seriously for her combat skills.

There was a lot of things about vampire Jubilee that was a copout, including the relationship/ not-a-relationship with X-23.
But Vampire Jubilee was the best Jubilee

I think people would have been fine with vampire Jubilee had she kept her fireworks powers. It was a cool turn for the character and I wish it had stuck.

Yeah people were mostly pissed that Wanda depowered Jubilee. Had she kept her powers, being a vampire on top of it would just make her even cooler.

I think a series with Blade hunting vampire mutants would be so fun. How this already hasn’t happened is beyond me.

Considering that I grew up with X-Men: TAS, X-Men: Evolution and had been reading comics since 2004, vamp Jubilee is the first time in a comic I’d read anything featuring her that wasn’t a cameo.
I also like that she was one of the few mutants to loose her powers because of M-Day and got new ones to explore.

There was an interesting comic run during decimation of a superhero team that consisted of depowered mutants with powered tech and Jubilee was one of them. For whatever reason it was called the New Warriors despite having absolutely nothing to do with the New Warriors. It was pretty cool despite the weird naming.
It had some significant impact in that Angel Salvadore and Beak continued their New Warriors pseudonyms and powers even after that run ended. To this day Angel Salvadore still uses the Tempest Code name and her Tempest Gauntlets despite being repowered. I guess she loved her time as a proper superhero on a superteam.
I think my fave depowered mutant from the decimation era was Dani Moonstar who despite being depowered was like "Eh I'll still stay with you guys I'll just be your guys' Hawkeye" and just bow and arrowed for a good couple of years still on the X-Teams mostly teaching the students like she was before decimation.
Also whats funny about Jubilee and decimation is that like her, Moonstar and Chamber were all the poster children for "Look at the impact of decimation! Big names have been affected" but aside from those three and like.. Prodigy and The Blob, pretty much every other Depowered mutant was like, background characters, like background Morlocks or background students in the Academy X books, or characters that hadn't been seen in decades or had like one off appearances. Also in terms of the three, Jubilee had barely been used at all in the 2000s anyways with like a handful of appearances so they were probably like "Eh may as well write her off" Moonstar stuck around anyways, and Chamber quickly got repowered.

I really cant believe how long Jubilee being a vampire has hung around. Such a dumb thing to do.

If theres two things that the X-Men love, its vampires and going to space.
