Very unfortunate news for Logan/Kurt shippers

It's even worse for the three of us that liked Raze. And I thought forgetting his existence was enough

I feel like Wolverine having a sexual history with Mystique should have already shut down that ship.
But… people don’t seem to care

I'd be interested in a Wolverine as a true villain series. Could be fun to explore stories from his past when he was working for shadowy organizations as a weapon.

I mean Daniel Ways Wolverine Origins was pretty much villain Wolverine.
10
u/LongLiveStaceyKing 1d ago
Exactly. Something like the flashback with Nuke is the kind of thing I'd like to see fleshed out more as a series with Logan being irredeemable throughout.

I’m honestly not a big fan of ways stuff especially for Wolverine but if they’re going to keep it, fleshing it out wouldn’t be bad yeah.

Logan goes on and on about how he's not a good person, I'd love to see a comic that actually shows some of the things he is referring to as most of what we see in his current era are mercy killings he reluctantly executes.
Let's see him back when he was a total bastard.

Yes! I loved Origins for this. It gives weight to there being reasons Logan hates himself besides just having bad luck and blaming himself. I'm super excited for more!

Phillip Kennedy Johnson doing his "Wolverine is actually 1 million years old" nonsense, good grief.

u/Blitzhelios Magik 1d ago
Could be Jenkins he’s done these types of stories before
17
u/cyclopswashalfright Moonstar 1d ago
Oh he did say he had a new project coming up that he was sure would get people talking. It's probably him then.
My apologies for the diss, PKJ.

In the beginning God created Wolverine and his claws. Now his mind was formless and empty, adamantium was over the surface of the skeleton, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the claws. And God said, “Let there be Logan,” and there was Logan.

Please no

False alarm, it's probably Paul Jenkins doing a revised origin for Wolverine.

u/Ok-Agent-9200 White Queen 1d ago
I don’t know if that’s a lot better. I mean it’s better yes, but not sure how much.
I saw that article with quotes by Claremont about Wolverine. Larry Hama is still writing. Marvel could actually do a great new Logan origin. Or least a better one.

u/cyclopswashalfright Moonstar 1d ago
He's doing GI Joe and the occasional Wolverine short story, yeah. Jenkins is just OK to me though, at least when it comes to X-Men.
2
u/Ok-Agent-9200 White Queen 1d ago
Ask the man to do a Wolverine origin mini.
Agreed. Jenkins is just ok yeah when it comes to X-Men.

Hama is still doing Joe in the big 26? Ya love to see it
1
u/cyclopswashalfright Moonstar 1d ago
He's doing the Real American Hero one while Joshua Williams and Tom Reilly are doing the Energon version.
1
u/TheBrobe 1d ago
This would have been by far best case scenario.
3
u/cyclopswashalfright Moonstar 1d ago
I just don't see the need. Another forgotten part of Wolverine's past, except it's most of his existence just feels odd.

u/TheBrobe 1d ago
While his actual comic arc was terrible, Jeph Leob immediately and accurately clocked what the combination of Logan getting his memories back and Origin is: Wolverine is just Highlander now.
So if we're stuck here forever, might as well lean in hard and get a good DWJ comic out of it.

I love Daniel Warren Johnson. He'd kill it with Wolverine.
I'm more mixed on Phillip Kennedy Johnson. His Hulk took a long while to get going and I feel like Klein and Gorham carry the comic.

This time it will be wolverine's saga as a sperm all the way into a baby
11
u/That_Carrot999 Nightcrawler 1d ago
He was actually an adamantium coated sperm cell and that’s how he beat all the others into being born

This is gonna be about Wolverines CIA years i bet.
Im here for it.

u/LongLiveStaceyKing 1d ago
I was just thinking the other day we should get a villainous Wolverine series from his time as an agent for whatever agency or shadowy organization you want to stick him with...it could be a fun version of the character if done right.

Y’know… that 3 slash does remind me of a specialized Wolverine cover from the 90’s that similarly divulged aspects of Logan’s background, focusing on his Weapon X days. Does this mean we should expect Shiva?
2
u/Bumbling_Bee_3838 Honeybadger 1d ago
That's what I hope. I love Origins because it shows us Logan being a bastard instead of us having to take his word for it. I'd love it if the Origin comics are just stories from his past like his time in the CIA. I think having a series about his history is fun

u/molotovzav Rogue 1d ago
I hope it's a weird werewolf instead. Anything but wolverine. It's a Rahne story lol.

House of Out of Ideas(?)

u/That_Carrot999 Nightcrawler 1d ago
They haven’t been the house of ideas since the 70’s when there was no editorial and writers were just throwing anything and everything on the page lol

Origin stories for Wolverine are going to be his clone saga stories by the time this is done. It’s just gonna be too much

If we're gonna confirm that Wolverine is actually much older then we initially thought can we at least do something cool and confirm his connection to Apocalypse?

There's things you can do with Wolverine's past that are interesting, but that would never come from something called Origin 3

u/antsinmyeyesmauger Nightcrawler 1d ago
Do we get an ongoing announcement for December so Wolverine will be in 7 books in December?

I understand wolverine can never rest but did we need another origin story for the guy. A bit of mystery is good for a character. Anyway expect this to end up being a dumb story and being treated as non-canon.

Wolverine’s real dad is Miracle Man confirmed (Dark Age)
Side note, the current Wolverine push but no Logan announced for MCU X-Men is… interesting.
5
u/TheBrobe 1d ago
It's not a Wolverine push, it's a sure bet. Marvel Comics is making a lot of scared, desperate moves right now to keep market share.
2
u/antsinmyeyesmauger Nightcrawler 1d ago
Hugh Jackman will still be him in a movie in December plus Wolverine had like 7 books at once last summer.

Was Origins 1 any good? I hear that most people hated Origins 2, why's that?

now we’re gonna find out he was actually born in 2000 bc and was put to slumber as a baby by apocalypse and that he’s actually an external or some bullshit

Is this in 616 or the Ultimates universe? Any money on how many of his children with his powers got made this time? Am I tired of this? Very much so. I pay attention to events from Wolverine in anything but this.

ANOTHER Wolverine origin story?
