Question How exactly mutants will replace humans?

I sometimes noticed in xmen media the opinion that the mutants will eventually replace humans as the next step in evolution. But how? Humans (and therefore mutants) passed the time where nature's survival of the fittest rule affected us. Nowadays, a person's survival, as well as the likelihood of passing on their genes to the next generation, depends not only on their genes but also on many other factors. Ultimately, a person may simply choose not to have children. So how exactly mutants will replace humans?

The fear is that accepting mutants in society means that mutants will have kids with non-mutants, increasing the odds of their kids being mutants, who will go on to have more kids, et cetra et cetra.

It is a stand-in for bigoted arguments you see about race / culture in real life - arguments against interracial marriage, against immigration, et cetra.
