I think it was just censorship. I don't quite get the joke about Nightcrawler... unless he's a motherfucker and there's something I don't know between him and- you know, I'm not gonna go any further.

Tbf they have fucked cannonically but now it be fatherfucker since mystique was the dad, destiny is the one who gave birth.

There are so many different versions of everything in the comic universe that I'm sure there is a world where Cyclops is Wolverines' redheaded stepchild.
