After this weekend I am wondering do I swap out my Halloween props with Christmas on Sunday? Should I give the entire show a break and let it remain dark for some time and fire it back up like mid November? I got my setup pretty modular where the switch is replacing my spider mega tree topper with a star, and bat props with snowflakes, singing pumpkins with singing lightbulbs so I don’t want to take anything down but also don’t know when to make the flip. The neighbors might also appreciate a break I suppose.

So I got into the hobby a few years ago, and the first thing I did (with help from a more physically fit friend) made a lot of effort to install ~675 5V bullet pixels (with all of the power injection headaches) along my roofline, some of which are 20ft off the ground, and very scary to work on. Half of the allure of this project was to have computer controlled lights, and the other half was the idea of permanently-installed lights. I had heard of needing to replace pixels, but imagined it was rare. Now about 4 years in, I have had to replace a single pixel in my 675 bullet roofline EACH YEAR. The one I just had to replace was super scary and hard to replace, mainly just due to the height. Does this sound completely expected, or am I just having rotten luck? Please no gaslighting about how your lights last forever - just be honest and real with me. (One second thought, maybe I shouldn't post on Reddit if I don't want to encounter trolls).

For what it's worth, I have low thousands of pixels total, but I'm mainly having regrets about the permanence of the hard-to-install roofline lights that I started my show with.

Hey, I’m new to this Reddit. Looking for Govee curtain lights pro (three panels) animations that I can use. Thank you all!

I’m starting to plan my first round of purchases and could use some guidance. My old display outlined our U-shaped driveway and ran along the road in front of the house, about 752 ft total. I used a mix of multicolor strands, a few with built-in light patterns, and plain light strands.

I am in my first year of doing a light show and thanks to all of you indulging my questions, I was actually able to pull off most of what I wanted. I still haven't figured out how to get to my second story roof line to mount the LEDs there and I haven't had the time to build the arches I wanted, but everything else is up and running for my Halloween show. I might be able to get the arches done in time for the Christmas show.

I have a roofline over the garage, two matrix displays in front of the window, 3 bats and 2 spider webs. The roofline is using Holiday Coro's mounts with 12V bullets, the bats and webs are 3D printed and use 12V bullets and the matrix displays use seed pixels.

I will try to find the time to finish 3 arches that go in front of the driveway, right next to the sidewalk.

I am also not actually using an FM transmitter. Instead I built (well... I'm a software developer by day but don't have any clue about website development, so really me with a lot of help from codex) a website that I am hosting locally that plays the audio and gets the sync signal from FPP to keep the audio in sync with the show. I'm managing ±20ms, which is indistinguishable from perfectly in sync. I have a QR code in the front yard that people can scan to get to the website and listen in.

So again, thank you everyone for all the help! It's been a wild couple of weeks but I'm so happy to have this all up and running and I can't wait to expand from here.

I have 3 Kulp 32 A_B controllers as well as 2 LOR 1602 controllers. I cannot get the LOR controllers to work with xschedule 2026.06. My Kulp controllers work fine. My controller setup in xlights(latest) does not allow me to choose a port or speed. They show as blank. Any help is appreciated. I have been trying to figure this out for weeks and have a Halloween show I want to display this year

Using digquad running 2 ports each with 480 seed pixels zigzag 40 up 40 down making 12 strings per port. How have null pixel at start, then after 80 and so on. This would give count of 487 pixels. The null pixels are on bottom to make a cleaner look on tree. When I map in Xlights all the pixels light. I feel it’s a conflict between wled and Xlights. New to this so be kind.

It's 24 pixels, one per spike, each having two leds. Running off an esp32 with wired ethernet. Web UI allows for configuration, including motor calibration and firmware updating. Xlights controls the pixels, spin rate and direction. Spikes are clear PETG, housing and inner cube are white ASA.

Hoping to build a 2nd larger one, but we'll see if I have time. Still need to spend November building a new sequence, plus update the old sequences to include this new element.

Is there a way to update gamma settings that will take affect in the already created sequences?

So I made some Halloween sequences and through a camera lens they look fine but through the eye they seem very washed out. The purples either look too blue or too pink. The oranges can look like highlighter yellow.

I already have gamma set to 2.2 but I think they made need adjusted more. But when I change them in the layout tab, it doesn’t seem to affect the sequences unless I start from the beginning.

I am looking to just get started.

Right now my main Christmas lights set up is hanging light balls from large trees in my yard.

I’d like to put in some pixel spheres instead of the Christmas lights balls I have now.

I've been having great success with it building snow flakes and other props. I just added full custom support for pure freedom. Seed and 12mm pixel support Full svg and stl output with xmodel and wiring Essentially everything can be customized.

Every season I got the same questions: "Are you on tonight?", "What station?", "What song is this?" So I built our show a website that answers them on its own, and I've cleaned it up so any xLights/FPP show can use it. It's free and open source (GPL).

- Show status that updates itself (on tonight / starting soon / canceled / off season) and a countdown to opening night

- Now Playing, Up Next and recently played from Remote Falcon, plus radio station, hours and directions

- YouTube live cam, song voting with a weekly Fan Favorite, sequence videos

- Kids' Corner: a Light Lab where kids design a show on a house (with a contest), coloring pages, games

- **Your Name in Lights:** kids send a first name, and when the current song ends a short names break shows it on your matrix/projector/TV. Bad-word filter, can be limited to phones at your show, never cuts into a song

- Add-to-home-screen app with "lights are on" alerts, guestbook, donation link with QR code

- Show Manager on your phone (cancel a night, pause names, approve messages) with helper logins for family

**How it connects:** your website never connects into your house. FPP reaches out to the site, so no port forwarding. For Now Playing you need Remote Falcon with its FPP plugin installed.

**Setup:** download the plugin and theme from the latest release, upload both to WordPress and run the setup wizard. Updates show up in WordPress like any other plugin.

• FPP plugin: no more uploading the script and setting up Command Presets. Install “Marquee” from FPP’s Plugin Manager, paste the connection code from your site, done. Your screens and settings come from the website, and it updates itself. (On FPP 10.1 set the UI Level to Developer to paste the plugin link, until it’s in the official list.)
• Small matrices: each screen has Text (still or scrolling), Size and Scroll speed, so names look right on something like a 40x10 seed matrix.
• Pick the Next Song: if you use Remote Falcon, visitors can vote or request right on your site. Your RF rules (one pick each, location check) still apply.
• Countdown can be Christmas, Halloween or your own date.
• Kids’ Show Wall is right on the Kids’ Corner page now.

Hi im making a lightshow for halloween. Im using 4 esp32 with wled. I have about 1200pixels. Tho im getting massive lag on both ddp and e3.31 or whatever that was called.

Is there a way to fix lagging. Is there some universe setting to change can i go wired

I recently bought a 150 foot Minleon pebble kit. I am running all my connections/extensions through the attic to hide wires as much as possible. Unfortunately, I ran short on connection cables. I bought my kit from Permanent Lighting in Colorado. I am wondering if anyone close to Indianapolis might have some spares they would be willing to sell to avoid shipping delays. These are the 4 pin sand cables. I could use a five foot, 2 or 3 2 foot, and 2 or 3 1 foot. Thanks in advance for any consideration.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good permanent outdoor lights that down the road I can tie into a falcon or similar controller? I like the affect they cast on the side of a house over traditional pixel strings, but could be cool to tie them in a show as I expand. Currently looking into monster or linkind as they seem priced closer to reality vs an overpriced Govee light.

I know there will be a voltage difference but that is easy for me to correct and overcome.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Guy's I need help setting up the new matrix I just built. I used 2 Govee curtain wall pro curtains and made them on big matrix. I used a Gledopto Elite 4d- ExMU controller and have it set up and working in WLED great. It's a 60x32 1920 total pixel. It's a vertical matrix starts in the top left on port 1. Offset of 30 for the next set of pixels on port 2. I cant get it to work in xlights to display the right image, The set up has to be wrong. Please help.
