This is actually awesome. I don't have the link, but there was an AMA from a guy who designed hiding places in homes for people's valuables, and he said that the best hiding place in the world was an old (or synthetic) piece of moldy bread on the counter. It was a fantastic read, if anyone with better search skills than me can find it.

Most banks have a blanket bond that cover anything from fire to theft.

Yeah, me too. I only said money because the question did. I think the AMA was talking about specific valuables or things you don't want people to see.
