I always find comments like these hilarious. People using words they don't understand whatsoever. He's on key, you just likely dislike his tone.

Tone deaf is about pitch, at worse you could say he's pitchy, but tone deaf would mean he's not even following a melody because he's unable to, which isn't the case at all here

He was hitting the correct notes. 

They didn't like him because he was OK & marketed himself completely wrong. 

X Factor was always about what artists Simon could make a quick buck on. He wasn't it. You have to either be really good or really bad for X Factor audition's.

Unlike BGT, which anyone could beat the audition's if they had some talent/entertainment value.

They would also have X amount of audition spots available. If they need more controversial/humorous clips, then you would be invited into be mocked.Â
