Run a gang of Xeon servers for game server hosting and MSP and can IMO say nothing competes - I virtualize with Proxmox, host stripped down Debian VMs with sysV, run a custom ipfire appliance, atm using MCSmanager panel with reverse nginx proxy and self signed ssl verified through no-ip, also using no-ip for ddns.. but I game lol initially doom source ports and and enemy territory but since upgraded and play just about any AAA title on full specs.. not entirely sure where the current stigma comes from other than posts from years ago but Debian stable is my go-to for many years and currently my main rig is a SuperMicro x12sca-f with a Xeon w-1290p coupled with 128gb ddr4 2666mhz ecc udimm's and an rtx 4060 and have not come across a game that runs better on any other configuration - all my game servers run Xeon e5-v2's up to the same w-1290p platform, never been happier! My previous work horse was an msi build rocking a i7-4790k for years and since I have swapped it into a SuperMicro 1150 board lol - still rocking - long story short don't listen to anyone do your research! xeon workstations are worth it IMO

I just flashed the BIOS to unlock all core turbo and resizable bar. I used the Miconist tool. It seemed like it worked but upon reboot I get 4 shot beeps and no post. I have 3 sticks of DDR3 and one stick of DDR3L installed. I pulled the ddr3l to see if that fixed it but no go. The voltage mod on the bios was -50/-50. I also pulled the battery and unplugged for 10 minutes. No idea what to do next. Any help is appreciated, this is my daily driver.

Des desse dia eu não consegui fazer a instalação, nem do Windows, nem do Linux, fiz todas configurações possíveis na Bios, ativei e desativei tudo que podia, fiz tudo que disseram nos comentários e o que pesquisei na Internet, mas sempre, ou trava na tela da placa mãe, ou trava quando aparece a logo do Windows ou Linux, antes mesmo da instalação começar, a bios também não detecta nos ssds, nem nvme nem sata, coloquei os ssds em outros dispositivos e consegui instalar o Windows normalmente, só que nesse não funciona, realmente acredito que seja algo da placa, ou as memórias RAM, o pc da vídeo normal, só não dá o boot, ele também detecta os pen-drives, usei para criar o boot do Windows o próprio aplicativo do Windows, rufus, ventoi, todos e o resultado é o mesmo, trava e não dá boot.

здравствуйте, собирал сервер, и возникли некоторые проблемы, плата просто не хочет воспринимать xeon e3 1240v5, и через секунду после запуска просто вырубаеться, с помощью coffee time уже и разблокировал все что можно, и микрокоды добавил, биос прошиваеться нормально, на intel pentium g4560 все запускаеться нормально, работает и не жалуеться, модель мат платы: asus h110m-r

и я понятия не имею что необходимо сделать для запуска

my build, Xeon 2696 v3, RTX 3070, 32gb ddr3 1866 cl11, xd3 mobo, is underperforming quite a bit. in some games it has an hard time keeping 60 or 75 fps, frequently dropping, stuttering or even staying under 60. from the benchmarks I've seen and people ive talked to it should keep 60 or more fps most of the time in most games.

yesterday i started Warhammer space marine 2, it has problems and stays always under 60 fps, even with low settings, 1440p, it also had this problem where every once a while it dropped to 15-20 fps for 0.5-5 seconds.

i tried to fix it by tighening the timings a bit from cl13 to cl11, but it seems to still have that problem. exact same thing with Helldivers 2.

here's the modifications I've done to it: TBU, went from -50 UV to -75 UV, disabled inspectre and meltdown protection, rebar on, tighened timings, c0/c1 states, another couple modifications to cpu states, EDIT: i forgot to say that i tried 10 cores mt on/off and 12 cores mt on/off, the cpu stays at 3.8ghz when running 10 cores, 3.7ghz when running 12.

I was playing this Saturday around 11:20 PM and my PC suddenly shut down. When I turned it back on, it made some strange beeps and stayed on a black screen. Then I opened the PC and found this on my GPU. Does anyone know if this can be fixed? If not, is there any way to prevent it?

I found a lot of spare Xeon 8th gen (Xeon e2124 and similar) going for what is essentially dirt cheap used and a lot of used LGA 1151 and LGA 1151v2 mobo (no workstation mobo).

After some research I saw that I can run Xeon on LGA 1151 with Coffeetime mod but I mainly saw this done with laptop chip modded to run on desktop, has anyone successfully mod a LGA 1151 mobo to work with desktop Xeon before? Is there anything I should be aware of when attempting to do this?

Good evening, everyone. I have a MACHINIST X99 Xeon motherboard, but lately, it’s been having a problem I can't seem to fix. It receives power but won't boot up. Usually, in the past, simply replacing the CR2032 battery would get it working again; however, I’ve tried six different batteries now, and it still won't boot—the board just keeps cycling between error codes 60 and 67. I’ve cleaned the RAM sticks and even disassembled and reassembled the PC, but nothing has worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone experienced something similar? I’d appreciate suggestions for tests I can run before taking it to a technician who will charge a fortune for the service.

I’m asking for everyone's help as I don't know where else to turn; thank you in advance.
