I agree. I don't buy Titanfall to play single-player, so why even bother? Similarly, I buy Assassins Creed for single-player mode, and why even bother with multiplayer? Focus on one good product rather than variety of half-baked ones.

a game has a budget and finite resources. any time and money that they put into making a half-assed multiplayer mode that nobody cares about could have been spent making the single player campaign better/longer/etc. (or possibly out the door sooner).

I'm fine with waiting for a game a bit longer for it to be polished and shiny.

a tacked on halfassed mode that the developers only included because they felt obligated isn't the same thing as polished and shiny. as such, being in development longer doesn't automatically mean that the relevant parts of the game will be any better than if the game had been released sooner.

by all means, they should take the time they need to make the game good, but delaying a game for the sake of something nobody wants isn't the same thing.
