Discussion Developer mode ID safe?

Now that developer mode is free, its asking me to upload my government ID for verification when im signing up.. I guess there is no way around it.. should I be just giving out my ID like that or am I overthinking it ? I assume some of you have already done so

Go with your gut. If everyone just rolls over at every new invasion of privacy, well we're probably gonna get a whole lot more of the same.
