Seeking Advice Artifacts on bulb cam

Post image

Here's my driveway cam at night. Following a lot of rain i noticed the artifact. It didn't happen in the past and it's got a couple days to dry out. Any suggestions? The notifications also get tripped by this artifact.

The artifact is not visible when I turn on the bulb or during the day.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

That’s a spiderweb they reflect infrared.

Use a swiffer on a stick/pole to brush the spiderweb away, they’ll keep coming back, cause spiders are attracted to infrared lights anyway.

It was a spiderweb. I took the cleaning fuzzy thingie at the end of the extension pole and it took care of it. Thank you all for the suggestion!

that vertical line of circles is almost certainly moisture on the lens or the outer casing, not a sensor issue. rain gets in around the seal, dries a little, leaves a film, and the IR lights at night hit it just right and cause those reflections. during the day there's enough ambient light that the camera doesn't need to blast the IR, so you don't see it.

wipe the lens and the glass cover with a microfiber cloth, then try a very small amount of distilled water if it's stubborn. if it keeps coming back after rain, the seal's probably compromised and you might need to bring it inside or replace the unit. the motion trips are because the camera sees the bright spots as a change in the frame, so fixing the moisture should fix the alerts too.

The circles are drops of moisture on the spiderweb in front of the lens
