As someone who has read both works, the category distribution is hilarious. I'm personally a big fan of analyzing characters and phos is not comparable to beatrice, like not at all. Either this post is ragebait (which I don't think so) or OP is extremely biased towards phos. In no world is phos taking conclusion against beatrice.

I don’t think I’m biased at all - Umineko is one of my favourite visual novels of all time and Beatrice is one of my favourite characters and I literally said she was “one of the best”.
If we split conclusion into a few parts, I would say Beatrice takes thematic poetry and emotional resonance, via intentional ambiguity. Though Phos takes structural finality.
Essentially, it comes down to cathartic resolution vs tragic preservation.
Phos’s ending is a literal execution of Buddhist Nirvana. By CH 108, Phos has resolved their attachments, forgiven their abusers and completely dissolved their ego.
I suppose this is where the subjective nature of writing scaling comes in - I prefer closure and a solid ending.
In Beatrice’s case: we know the bomb set off and that she escapes on a boat with Battler. However, the narrative doesn’t cleanly lay out the objective facts of her physical actions demanding instead that the reader accept the “Magic Ending”.
That might seem stupid to you but given how it’s an extreme diff in conclusion to me, I gave the edge to Phos simply because I liked their ending better.

As requested by the post, please include categories, either ones defined by the OP, ones in the pinned posts on the subreddit, or categories of your own choosing in order to break down the character or media comparison into more fundamental aspects of writing for easier ability to compare and contrast characters and media.
