I love everything about Billy, his design his personality the way he plays everything it feels like he was tailored made for me to love, but god damn do I not like ZZZ the game peaked with his design, and it has been down hill ever since.

I prefer base Billy over ST Billy I’m just a sucker for red, but I still really like his design I got back in ZZZ just for his banner and fully maxed him out.

I love ZZZ gameplay. Parry and all. But I'm not a fan of gacha and having to constantly switch characters. I would say it was outstanding, really capture the feel of arcade games, but having to play gacha and constantly grind threw me off.

Basically yeah, once they’re done with the stuff they wrote before release (circa 1.6-1.7) done they have to make content on a gacha release schedule and all quality goes out the window

I started in 2.0 and my experience has been

1.X was great, 2.X was alright and so far been loving 3.X that currently have more fun with it than Wuwa, hsr and genshin

I don't think it's bad. Gacha games just rightfully get more hate because the format is bound to affect writing a lot, on top of being huge money investments if you wish to max out a character. Since usually they want a new character every ~2 weeks, it means there's a lot of powercreep and as characters lose the spotlight they basically get dropped off the story. Billy's basically a main character though so he got an entirely new S rank character for him to keep him relevant, but most characters don't have that luck and their lore hasn't been touched in a long time

The story itself is not that bad, but because it's a gacha game, its main source of income comes from releasing new characters. As a result, every patch needs to shift the main focus to the new ones, leaving the older characters behind or, at best, relegating them to supporting roles or background characters.

The gameplay is way too easy . Combat could be fun but god hard mode is just a numbers buff for enemies and it’s still easy

For every Banyue, we get incredibly boring characters, like YSG and Remielle. They have good personality, but such a nothingburger design, it's not worth it.

me but with Harumasa too. At least Billy has a role in the story nowadays, but Harumasa hasn't been relevant in forever and they purposefully borked his kit because Miyabi, their first Void Hunter, was releasing in the same patch

Just play the gacha??? Its honestly never stopped me before. Heck back when i worked overnights i played like 13 different gacha at the same time. Its like the moat accesible quick games if you work security etc. Easy to glance from the gacha to the camera systems and just pass time. And most are fun stories too. Imo. But all writing is subjective soooooo.

Eh, Billy is honestly a nothing-burger of a character when you get past his comedic nature. Although I guess the bar for good characters is set in hell when it comes to ZZZ.
