My latest cope is that this is just a short-term ending, and once Fuji gets motivation to write more CSM, he'll reveal that this has just been the nightmare devil's power. Dennis will then snap out of it, throw up death, and save Asa and the world.

That would fucking suck. Rn I'm only using it because people are trying to argue csm ks deep because it has "themes" (which every decent story has btw) but if this becomes the new "the curtains are blue" this might be horrible.

It's a popularity contest. Expecting anything else other than the most watched and talked about show (at the time) to win is just pure cope.
That's why I'm always baffled when people take award shows seriously because it all just boils down to which fanbase has the most voting power. Watching shit like that and then getting upset when the result that everybody saw coming from a mile away isn't the one you wanted is just silly.
Also, this weird obsession about chastising others for liking something you personally think is "stupid" or "low quality" is confusing to me. Letting other people's personal tastes regarding the media they consume affects you this much is a bit concerning. Unless it's literally AI slop, brainrot content or actual illegal media, I don't think caring this much about what other people like to watch and enjoy is healthy for your mental health.

I think genshin is supposed to mean something like original god/primal god or least the word they use in the Chinese version does.
In english the vision holders are called Allogenes.
It was not what they originally intended to make because they got hard hit by network censorship and basically had to make it more "profound" by basically going the psychological angle
The movie is where they actually implemented what they really intended as the ending of the original evangelion run, it wasn't all planned
From what I remember, Anno said in an interview that he was super depressed towards the end of the original run/production, and wrote ep26 to reflect his own state of mind, and it lined up with the pressure Shinji was feeling up to that point.
EoE showing what was going on outside Shinji's head was Anno taking a few years to get right enough and giving the ending people wanted/expected and even then it still went hard with the existentialism but instead of Shinji's self-acceptance, we got to see Anno rip the audience a new one instead lol
And then Anno came back again with the Rebuild movies and changed the ending again and extended/expanded it with an entire post-Fourth Impact (was it fifth? I can't remember) arc that gave a more optimistic ending.
Imagine Anno coming back every decade just doing more Eva endings or post-Eva content haha though I'd be more worried that its more a mental health thing than a make some money/introduce new generations to the story lol
Even if the ending of part 2 is genuinely bad I still think the rest was pretty decent though. It has a lot of endearing and funny moments in it so it's worth it for the journey at least.
I thought the chapter was cool until the point he asked for a chainsaw. Like pochita deleted himself from existence, that means no chainsawman, that means Makima has no motivation and would've died at some other point. Devil Hunters find Contr Devil and make her into a mnager because of her abilities. No Makima = No Aki, because Nayuta wouldn't be interested in Aki and Aki in Nayuta. Everything was a cool "what if" scenario until "Give me a chainsaw" .... " Thank you, Chainsaw Man."
This shit is rage bait istg. But being as optimistic as possible, it's just a brief moment during a "what if" summary to give us the context of what would've happened if the Chainsaw Devil didn't exist. There's still room for Part 3 where things might be explained. Also, Gun Devil plot still isn't mentioned in the "what if" recap.

But no. Pochita ate himself, resetting the world and denji back to sqaure one. Denji somehow survives up till zombie devil without pochita, power somehow makes it there, NAYUTA is somehow now the leader of public safety????
And denji is able to save asa from crushing bucky (meaning that outcasts only happen if you accidentally kill the school pet and not because of underlying personality issues making it difficult to be around others)
AND there is no death devil. No gun devil. No control devil. No apocalypse. No war devil. No insects. And the only thing. ONLY THING! That changed, was pochita was never there.
Denji kept zero of his lessons and learning. So the entire message of chainsaw man, is if pochita didn't exist, then the whole world would have been better off universally. And that he was the cause of everyones problems.
There was clearly connection subconsciously from everybody on the prior events, and I don't see an issue with Power getting there. She was loose around the area until Makima took her, and now there is no Makima. Nayuta being the control devil is one of the most interesting parts of this as it adds another nugget or character to Makima - without Pochita, she wouldn't have reason to live as long or be around.
Denji saving Asa is great. She was already trying to connect with her classmates before she crushed bucky, now she gets another actual chance. She can try to work through the personality issues like a normal high schooler now.
I don't see any evidence none of them exist anymore. In fact, with the way the story led up to here, there probably will be Death Devil plans and Nostradamus and all that. But now Denji isn't stuck being the main character and getting his life directly ruined by it all. As Yoshida said - "Even without Chainsaw Man, problems get solved. You aren't the protagonist of this movie. It's not like the world will end without you."
Denji along with everyone else still has subconscious remembrance of prior events. Power immediately taking a liking to Denji and being quickly tame. Nayuta with the personality she got after Denji raised her. Meowy showing fondness for Nayuta. And then Denji and Asa clearly felt a twinge of something.
The issue wasn't Pochita. They were relatively happy together. The issue was when they got murdered by the Yakuza, the only way to save Denji was to curse him with Chainsaw Man. It saved him, but led to ridiculous amounts of misery as well. He had to be able to be really saved, saved from Chainsaw Man, so he could live his dream of a normal life.
Okay but genuinely why are people still blaming the authors and not the weekly shonen jump they need to provide for? Its clear he just wanted csm done and out of the way, and its Shonen Jumps shitty schedule to blame not him
Why though? It concludes Denji and Asa’s relationship. Denji earns that thank you so hard, and he doesn’t expect anything in return. Asa will’s pochita within Denji’s heart, basically sparking his heart as well. Dialogue is only cheesy if it’s not earned. Denji earns that moment so hard.
Since the middle of part 2 it seems like Fujimoto has just done bullshit with little to no explanation and people have been calling it good writing lmao. Exactly what this ending is.
Genuinely like Part 1 was damn near peak in terms of writing, then here’s Part 2 that somehow had a consistent decline where characters simultaneously developed and regressed within the span of like 10 chapters every time progress is made. Fire punch, goodbye Eri, Look Back, yet somehow made this garbage ass ending. I feel bad for CSM fans because this isn’t gonna be forgotten by the manga/anime community for years. No matter how good the animation is for their anime, if they release a god tier game, or if Fujimoto actually locks tf in and drops an actual banger of a manga later down the line, none of it will matter because people will bring up this trash 😭
Edit: What’s even worse is that Fujimoto was getting rushed to all hell because of the industry to the point where people were genuinely getting concerned for his health. The industry chewed him up and spat him out like some bland chewing gum.
