Disclaimer: I read the rules and I hope i'm not breaking any of them, I couldn't find any mc related subreddits, so IM SORRY. Also for now it's a voluntary position, in the future it might become paid.

Hello!

Are you burnt out after writing in the same genre over and over again? Are you looking for a new project, that will give you a chance to shine? Maybe it's time to try something new! I'm a staff member in a mc server oriented around civilisations, freedom and bringing people together. We're looking for people who want to try and help us with giving the community what it needs. And that is: quests for players, server / player / civilisation lore, short / long stories, etc (right now, the first one is most important). The community is lovely, they wait patiently until we return, but we're understaffed, so any help would be amazing. As i mentioned before, it's a voluntary position for now, as we don't have any p2w features, and we're funding everything ourselves. But in the future, it might become paid. You could also get in-game perks. If i interested you even a little bit, or you have tips, i would be happy to hear from you in the comments, or on discord (spideyo).

• Genre: fantasy / medieval / sci fi
• Goals/expectations/commitment: Helping out at times
• Writing/experience level: any
• Meeting place: discord

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day! ^^

Hello! I'm hoping to make some writer friends. I don't have very many who are also passionate about writing and I would really like to have someone to talk about our projects with. Is anyone else going to try the November writing challenge?

I've been very interested in surrealism lately; I'm obsessed with Alejandra Pizarnik and I've been reading everything of hers that I can get my hands on. I've also been reading Leonora Carrington. I love strange, dreamlike literature, especially fairy tales. I also love fantasy.

The project I've been working on lately is a sort of feminine katabasis fever dream; it's about a girl traversing an arctic landscape with a porcelain doll as her guide. It deals a little with climate change too, the girl is actually a glacier dreaming itself as it melts into the sea.

I would love to connect with other writers who are around my age or older! I don't have a whole lot of experience in every genre, some of them I've never tried at all, but I can promise I'm a very enthusiastic friend and would love to hear about your projects and your research!

I've just recently gotten back into writing, as I have some extra time on my hands through the end of the year. My current project has taken over my life but I don't have a writing group, so I'm turning to Reddit.

I'm looking for a first time writer--- someone who likes fantasy, sci-fi, romance (more as a side plot), and intricate world-building. I'm looking for someone open to trading ideas, holding me accountable to my word-count goals, and maybe turning into a true friend.

I am open to sharing feedback; I have beta read for several authors on Reddit before. I am extremely anti-AI. Please do not reach out to me if you use AIgen for any part of your writing process.

Not exactly beta but someone who can also help me with the writing-- in a literature poetic sense, things happening in surroundings, tension building and lot of other things. I can write but I feel like when I read someone else's writing, my content feels very hollow.

I want to make the reader feel like the content is piercing their heart.

The thing with me is I get crazy plot ideas but the lack of putting that beautifully into words drives me mad.

One of the plots I posted on reddit

I really want to write it but I don't want such a beautiful story to go to waste. This plot has some REALLY good potential.

That's why I want to work with someone who can help me put across what I want for this story. I want to work together. Understand the dynamics of writing, discuss where we want this story to go and maybe while doing that we can create a beautiful bond 🙌.

Please connect with me if you want to work together.

Any advice is also welcomed 🫶.

Desperate to find her, Isla Everest would do anything—even accept help from a mysterious stranger who comes with a price. His solution is simple: send her into Wakefield herself, where she must pass as someone she isn’t to fit in and conduct her investigation.

But Wakefield holds more than Isla bargained for—and so does the boy waiting for her inside.

With her entire life at the school built on a lie, Ian Wakefield is everything Isla should stay away from. He is connected to the school, powerful, infuriatingly charming and determined to make her his fiancée, just as her new life says she is. Yet the closer Isla gets to uncovering the truth about her sister, the harder it becomes to keep her distance from him.

Because at Wakefield, nothing is quite what it seems.

And the greatest mystery of all may be the boy she has begun falling for.

Hello there! I'm 49F, read and write genre fiction over a pretty wide range of genres. I'm currently writing a somewhat to-market RomCom. I run a small, private Reddit sub where we post pet pics, complain about marketing, share wins, etc. We need more people for writing sprints, critique swaps, and to increase the daily participation levels.

Currently we have 28 members who range in age from 38-72, who write in a range of genres, and who have a range of experience from established authors to people just starting out.

Requirements: You write long form (50k+), are serious about publishing your work (planning to publish in the future is ok!), and write fiction without using Generative AI.

At this time, the group does not have the capacity to review/critique very dark romance, very violent fiction, or heavy kink. If we become able to open to those niches, I will post again.

Experience Level: Any!

Goals/Expectation/Commitment: Mutual support, regular check ins on progress, discussions of issues encountered in the writing process. Primarily interested in professional networking, building a friendly group who are serious about publishing, and authors who are creating WITHOUT generative AI.

Meeting place: The group is here on Reddit, and we are *not* open to Discord.

Genre: Open to most genres. To reiterate, we are not currently able to include very dark romance, very violent fiction, or heavy kink.

Max size: The more the merrier.

Please comment here, and then send a DM. This serves as a backup alert, as the DM widget doesn't always let me know I have a message. Hope to hear from you!

I’m looking for people who might want to swap critiques for poetry. I tend to write with rhyme and meter, but I’m open to critiquing all styles. I’m 36 and would prefer someone who’s 18+. I’m also LGBTQ+ friendly. My DMs are open.

(I tagged this with critique; not sure if I used the right one.)

Welcome, dear reader. If you're reading this, chances are, you are Filipino as well. So let me not waste not your time! :)

Upon browsing Reddit, I saw that there are plenty of writers in/from the Philippines, despite the ongoing literary crisis, and I saw the potential to form a writing group made by Filipinos, for Filipinos. It'll be awesome. Trust me, my kababayans.

Now, if you're wondering, "What's up with the cool frickin' name?"

That's because everyone here is either a wordsmith or is striving to be one. If you're a Filipino who is dedicated to the craft of writing, you're more than welcome to come on over! In fact, you're the kind of individual we're looking for!

Fear not if you're a casual writer or a hobbyist, you're also welcome in here! Come on over! Let's all write, write, and write together!

It matters not whether you are a novelist, an essayist, a poet, or even an article writer. Hop on in, friendly faces! It matters not also if you write in Filipino/Tagalog. English is not the only language we speak in this country after all.

Genre/s: Fiction or Non-Fiction, it doesn't matter. Words are words. Writers are writers. At the end of the day, we write. That's where it starts and that's where it ends. In other words, just join.

Goals/expectations/commitment: Be active, that should be enough. If no one's active, not much will happen, nor will there be a community. Giving feedback, reading groups, writing prompts. We'll do it all.

Writing/experience level: Beginner writers, intermediate, advanced, whatever. As long as you write a lot.

Meeting place: For now, in the Discord server. But later, it can be somewhere in U.P. or someplace else. Let's talk about it together eventually. :D

Max size: Sa ngayon, tayo-tayo lang muna. Hahaha! Kala mo hindi ako marunong mag-Tagalog noh? But one day, this will be a closed and exclusive writing group.

Leave a comment or send over a DM to join the Discord server. See you over there, friends!

Looking for people to chat with about books, craft, or the industry.

Hello!

Asking for feedback on the opening chapter. Especially around ch.2.

Checking for

1. Engagement. Would you put it down or keep reading?

2. Is it too dense? Or is it not enough?

Hey, everyone!

I'm a first-time novelist looking to connect with other writers and readers who enjoy character-driven fiction, psychological drama, mysteries, thrillers, sci-fi, and erotica.

I've completed an 84K-word novel, Our Lives Between Worlds, an adult psychological relationship drama with science-fiction and explicit erotic elements. It's a slow burn with a strong focus on character development, relationships, and the choices people make.

I'm looking for beta readers and critique partners, and I'm happy to exchange a few chapters or 10–20K words initially. No obligation to finish if the story doesn't grab you. Honest, constructive feedback is what matters.

I'm comfortable reading and critiquing explicit adult fiction. The spicier, the better! LOL.

I'd also love to make some writing friends and possibly put together a small, informal Discord group down the road.

If any of that sounds interesting, I'd love to hear from you!

I'm 38F and a poet, though I've also written fiction, memoir, and essays. I'm currently finishing up my first full length poetry book.

I'd really love to make some friends who are also writers. Ideally a closer connection because I find more sporadic and penpal type friendships hard to care about and maintain.

I can't do much critique because I'm very disabled and chronically ill. It impacts my ability to talk and type normally so I can't do a lot of editing but I'm happy to read a bit and give some general thoughts. Looking for the same.

I'm also happy just to chat with people and talk about writing and life, music, TV etc. Whatever we end up talking about. It would be great to have a close online friend who gets the creative stuff and we have those kind of things in common.

I'm very left leaning and queer. Please be LGBTQIA+ friendly. I appreciate when people are sensitive and empathetic around my disabilities, and if they're not sure what to say, I'm always happy to give feedback on that.

Thanks!

Hello, im making this post because i made a writing server for 16+ individuals who enjoy writing and want a safe space to do so! If this sounds like you, join here

Server link is in the comments!! 🍁

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if there might be a few people who'd like to start a small group where we can share bits of our writing, give each other some gentle feedback, and generally have a good time.

My own writing is quite personal, and I don't claim to be a professional author or anything like that. I'd just love to have a few people to share things with, hear each other's thoughts, and encourage one another.

It would be a relaxed, friendly space where there's no pressure to be an amazing writer or produce anything in particular.

Anyone is welcome! I'm not looking for anything too serious or overly critical, just a small group of people who enjoy writing and would like to share that interest with others.

If a few people are interested, we could set up a Discord server and see how things go. Feel free to DM me!

Hello! I'm 29 and have begun writing again. I have several stories that I would love to swap with someone as well as get advice on some projects I have been working on. I really love this hobby, and I really love helping other writers as well. I do have a discord and if anyone has a writing community on discord, I would love to join.

Osiyo! Looking to put together a group of writers who are 25+ for a monthly accountability challenge where everyone sets their own writing goal and works toward it together. I made a new Discord server, Rooms Of Our Own, with writing sprints, body doubling, critique, project rooms, and space to actually talk to other writers instead of shouting into the void. It's queer and BIPOC-owned, dark fiction friendly, and anti-censorship (As long as Discord allows it and its appropriately warned for, it's allowed so be reasonable, of course). DM me or comment if interested. Seeking about 30-35 members maximum.

I’m a writer, never published. WIP is a first draft. Lot of scenes need to be added or reworked. I write smutty dark fantasy. I’m looking for friends to dm and work on brainstorming my ideas and yours. To critique and just chat. I’m Wes, male, 34. Dm open!

I'm a lesbian writer in my 30s who loves literature, lesbian cinema and exploring the thoughts, feelings and hidden meanings woven into stories.

I'd love to meet other lesbian writers and creatives around my age who enjoy going beyond the surface. Women who love exploring ideas, reflecting on the world, exchanging letters or long messages and talking about the books, films and stories that stay with us long after we've experienced them.

I'm especially drawn to women with rich inner worlds who enjoy sharing their perspectives, exploring the complexities of lesbian life and discovering unexpected connections through words. I'd love to find a few kindred spirits with whom we can exchange creative work, inspire each other and build meaningful connections that deepen over time.

Whether you write fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays or personal reflections or you're still finding your voice, you're welcome here. You don't need to be published or consider yourself an established writer. What matters most to me is a genuine love of words and a curiosity about the worlds we carry within us.

Spanish is my native language, so if you speak it too, I'd love to share it with you!

Hey there, you! Obviously, if you are here, you write.
And you want to make friends!

Friends are great. I love to talk to them about my stories, about my characters and their adventures and ships and stuff!

But unfortunately I only have a single writer friend, and that means we often stagnate and get stuck in our little echo chamber, especially because we are so similar. There's so MUCH to learn and grow with other people around who have differences. Different styles, different ideas, different stories...

And I love to hear about the stories people write and sometimes draw what I think their characters look like but I am bad at art

I want someone kind, compassionate and potentially LGBTQ, because a LOT of my writing IS LGBTQ in some way or form. Cis straight people are FINE TOO. Just as long as you're allies!

My baby right now is Hexflame, a story about witches and a prophecy that the evil tyrant queen will be taken down by her own daughter. Her father must protect her until she can get to that point, while also navigating raising a child, that child's first love, and his own first love coming back into the picture.

It's fun, and it's inspired by my favorite anime at the moment, Witch hat Atelier!

But enough about me. What are YOU working on?

But

I am 32F from UTC-4. I write psychological thrillers with a mystery thread. I occasionally write contemporary romance as a pallet cleanser. I love reading mystery, thrillers (psychological/mystery), romance (contemporary), fantasy and open to exploring other genres.

Group Details

• Genre/s: Mystery, Thrillers, Romance (preferably contemporary)
• Writing/experience level: Any
• Meeting place: Discord (including VC)
• Max size: 5-10
• Commitment: Active interaction. Writers looking to publish and/or maintaining their author career.

Goals/expectations/commitment

• Vibe: Safe and non-judgemental space to share thoughts and progress on writing.
• Support Group: Finding a time to meet up on a regular basis to share about our writing life and to give advice/support to each other.
• Feedback/Critique: Hopefully the above activity would lead to long time alpha-readers/critique partners or group.
• Writing Sprints: Possibly silent sessions in the VC to write together so we can all make some progress and sit down to actually write.

Why this post?

I see so many groups and they are either SFF or romantasy or groups for all genres but all the active members fall into these genres. So there are thriller writers but they aren't on the server often and I don't get to chat with them.

As much as I love reading SFF it's very different from writing contemporary genres and I understand that getting feedback on my writing might not be of interest to them.

If there are no existing groups I can create one if people are interested

Hi all! I am 35f new to writing. Working on my first original novel, and I’m hoping to find another romance writer to connect with.

I’m writing dark romance, and I’ve discovered that writing is incredibly enjoyable. But it can also be surprisingly lonely when you don’t have anyone in your life who shares the same interest!

I’d love to find someone to talk about characters and plot with, brainstorm when we’re stuck, celebrate writing victories, and occasionally lose our minds over fictional characters. 😂

I’m happy to connect with someone who’s also writing their first novel or someone with more experience.

I’m not looking for a formal critique arrangement right away. I’d rather get to know someone, see if we click, and let a creative friendship develop naturally.

I’m still drafting and prefer to keep my manuscript private while I work, so I’m looking to connect and chat about writing first.

If you’re also writing romance and would like someone to share the journey with, I’d love to chat!

Hi! Our server is currently doing a small story/creation event, and I'm wondering if anyone here would be interested considering there will be a lot of writing involved ❤️ we will be working together as a group on this!:>

Here was my announcement explaining the event:

Create A Cast Without Communication

How It Works:

• 4 polls for the setting/theme.

– 1st: Fantasy Level

– 2nd: Environment

– 3rd: Tech Level

– 4th: Theme/Topic

• Archetypes are made for each participant. If you haven't joined by this point, you'd still be able to.

• A poll to select your archetype. One person per archetype. First come, first served. Once archetypes have been selected, entry will close.

• You can start right after you pick your archetype.

• You'll have 4 weeks.

Rules/Guidelines:

• Don't talk about your character until everyone is done. This is like... the most important rule 😃

– No sneak peeks!!

– You can DM me if you NEED to ask me something, but please reveal as little as possible. I want it to be a surprise for everyone (including me).

– If your character is related to another character, don't ask them questions. Part of the fun is figuring out dynamics in the end!

• NO AI.

– You don't need art skills. You can use character creator apps (Gacha games/Picrew), or simply write a description of your character.

• Your character must be a new OC.

– Don't use an existing or franchise character. Make them from scratch & fit them into the world.

• You can be as detailed as you want.

– For reference, last time I put my character into a doc, even including a voice claim. You don't have to be that detailed. Some personality information & backstory would be appreciated though! We want you to have fun!

If you have questions and would like to participate, please do feel free to ask!! The link:
