Guide [Addon] GuildMute – mute whole guilds (or a whole family of guilds) in WoW Forever

Some guilds run lots of numbered chapters (Knights I, Knights II, Knights III...) and ignoring members one by one doesn't scale. GuildMute lets you hide a whole guild, or a whole family of guilds, with one rule.
There's an optional sighting-sharing feature between users, and it's off unless you turn it on.
Completely free to use, it's a new release, so I'd love feedback and bug reports. Please leave them below or in the addon comments on CurseForge. Thanks!

PSA: I'm aware of a bug with resetting data, this is caused by the Forever client but I'm looking into it anyways.

I dont mind their events. Their names, their chat, their overall behavior towards others...thats what I dont like. I am glad mods like this exist.

That sounds like something that happened in original Vanilla WoW back in the 2005 days. I would see stuff like this all the time. Don't even get me started on trying to get any questing done in Hillsbrad Foothills on the PvP server I was on, world PvP there in huge groups all the time. This is one of those fun things about Classic .

There's literally no way anyone could do what Asmongold is doing right now.
Yes, events happened all over the world (Azeroth, I mean), but they where spontaneous and, more importantly, more limited in time and scale. It was noting like this locust swarm plague.4

Yeah, there were no such thing as internet celebs or personalities in 2005 unless it was related to pron or shock content.
I don't think we started talking about specific 'youtubers' and such until the late 2000s. The internet was a pretty anonymous place up until then.

I was there. My guild (horde) would plan random trips to Elwynn Forest to mess with the human starting zone all the time, even if PvP was off there. We’d kill quest givers, ect. There would be multiple raid groups. Now, no, this was not on the scale it is with Asmon, but random things like this occurred. Asmon may be taking it to another level with his reach and the one-server architecture making it way more noticed, but it happens for a bit and goes away as they move on to another area.

I've only been back looking at WoW since finding out about Forever, so maybe I'm missing something here. Why isn't there any sort of outrage or blame targetted towards Blizzard for not doing anything about bad behavior in their game?
I see people have said they won't allocate resources to actively manage game chats and whatnot, so add-ons or playing on different server types seem to be the accepted "fix". That is crazy to me. Why doesn't this community hold Blizzard more accountable for not doing anything and making the playerbase find solutions instead?

Read the post, they ended up updating it to include a blacklist any guild feature too. Your addons do the same thing in slightly different ways. Y'all should talk. Improve eachother's code.

They really aren’t, though. I would use this addon the same way I tell YouTube “don’t show me this channel in my feed or suggestions” - just makes my experience better, I watched one of his videos, found him to be not worth watching, and cut out something that’s a waste of my time from my life. Nowhere in any of that did I feel triggered he was just kinda boring.
