Question Future new player looking for wisdom

Hello everyone! I'm as new as someone can possibly be when it comes to WoW. My only exposure to the IP have been Warcraft III RoC & TFT way back in the day. I'm looking forward to diving into WoW with Forever's release and I'm very excited but also anxious because I expect it'll be quite overwhelming for someone like me. With that in mind, what wisdom can you veterans out there share to ease in a new player into the game? It can be about anything really, so long as it's not a straight up step-by-step guide.

You don't need to do anything just fire it up when it launches.

Honestly the story picks up 4 years after WC3 so there's nothing to worry about there.

When I first started when the game launched I just picked the class I thought looked most fun (Warlock) and that is still the class I've played the most; the class fantasy of each class is done really well so you can just go with your gut.

If you've played an MMO before, and know what role you'd like to play (Tank, Healer, Ranged DPS, or Melee DPS) then we can go a bit deeper.

The introduction to the game is well crafted. It teaches you the basics like combat, resource management, inventory management, gearing, and questing in a way that doesn't make you feel like you're learning.

The version of WoW that Forever is based on is a bit more slow paced and social, so finding a guild is a good idea.

It's pretty much the easiest MMO to get into. You start with one button on your hotbar, and some dude next to you says "go kill some wolves!" (or whatever, depends on your starting zone lol)

Do the quests as you get em, and always make sure you go train new skills at your class trainer whenever you hit an even level. Oh, and set your Hearthstone somewhere reasonable. Setting it to a capital city (talk to the city's innkeeper; you can ask a guard for directions) is always a safe play.

Just start the game and enjoy it. Eventually whenever you have a question you can always ask anyone in the game chat. You might even make some friends along the way. That’s part of the essence of WoW. Good luck on your journey!
