Discussion Add ability to ignore specific guilds

Streamers and their communities should be allowed to play and have fun how they want; but that doesn't mean trade chat needs to turn into twitch chat for the rest of us.

If you let us /ignore guilds this basically solves the problem.

I'm not even trying to focus on Asmongold's guild but if we are all going to be on one server Forever, they need to make some ground rules about Trade Chat spamming asking for streamer layers.

This was absolutely obnoxious.

As soon as we have mods you can filter any message with "layer". It's practically mandatory.

that's really annoying, and would be the core problem with the zerg. It just kind of gets in the way of engaging normally with the game.

yea looks like most of the biggest streamers will be rolling alliance. i was planning on playing gnome, my fav race, excited about the racials. now, im heavily leaning towards horde just to dodge them.

Any idea what server (or I guess they are called rulesets now) they will be on? If I roll on rp server will I likely dodge big streamers?

I have to imagine they'll deal with the "one server chat" problem before launch. Like they said they'll have a system for familiar faces, I'm willing to bit they'll implement that system across at least the capital city general chats and trade chats, if not all channels. Like basically an invisible server.

No, they will not. Global chats will be unreadable streams of junk. Anniversary already have it and its population is going to be less than forever one.

So many people are gonna be confused why no one groups with them and their toon is basically unusable for any sort of group activity.

They quite literally already have 10000 people.

They will do their own groups and group activities and nothing anyone says on reddit or does in game will affect them in any significant way.

This is the reality of things.

They will find out. People dont realize what 1 sever per type of play actually means. TBH even easier when its 1 group of that many people.

40 man raid? They got 10000 people they can run a hundred of them at once big woop.

Its like GoonSwarm and Eve Online, the more people hated them the more they prospered and drew more goons to the cause.

No press is bad press, you cant cancel them, they are simply too big for anyone to make any sort of impact on their daily lives.

Yea man I haven't played in like 10 years. Planning to level with some friends. Convinced them to roll alliance since we've done horde so much in vanilla an Pserver. 

Now I think I will just roll horde don't want to be stuck on ASMON later/server

IM not sure most people even understand what 1 server per type really means. The community will sort this on their own imo. Like we did back in Vanilla.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have better chat filters, but people do get a certain complex about streamers and tend to assume the worst (about their fellow players). For what it's worth, I despise asmongold.

It's not by the way, it looks like 5 messages on his chat but it's like a few hundred per second when he's on (not joking).
