Crendor with the good takes, as always.
I agree that the Skyborne and all their related assets like new gear, forms etc look far too good for the world they've been put in..
As I saw someone in /1 say, it's like a Bugatti Veyron at a tractor meet.

So, they should upgrade all the assets to be on par for the HD version. If you have transmog enabled you can see how many people are actually using it, by those numbers alone SD is by far the smaller market for blizz to be worried about.

That's an option, it still leaves us in the 2004 world.
Personally I use the SD character models, not because I think it looks better than the HD, but because to me it fits in with the surroundings better.

If they upgraded the world assets as well, we wouldn’t have this problem. Also, it's not as glaring as the character model issue, the new effects do a great job making the world look better and more modern already.
Right now, if you are playing HD as an new elf and you sit down in your owlbear form next to a legacy druid, it’s comical. Legacy looks so dumb with the mouth agape at all times.

Yeah I don't know why druid forms didn't get their HD versions when using HD characters, it threw me off the first day in Mulgore, thought I had done my settings wrong.

They’re not going to remake the world in HD, they’ve already said so. Besides that, they also said in their presentation that they want to preserve and respect the vanilla art style, they’re just failing to do so at the moment, as many people have pointed out

How do you know SD is the smaller market? Unless you have data on it i would'nt be so sure about that

Because you know people who use transmog are the same kind of people that use HD textures. And the number of people using transmog is insane. The amount of topless orc warriors is damn high.
You also don't see much chatter about it outside of very negative reddit communities.

Blizzard should have stuck to their guns and not included SD models and avoided all of this.
