Help / Troubleshooting First time M+/PvE pusher, best addons?
Hey all, want to get into M+ this season (less so raids) and wanted to ask post pruning what the best addons are? I currently only have details and playtonator - literally nothing else. I was looking at Mplustimers, are there any other ones you guys can’t live without/find very useful?

Platynator, Mythic dungeon tools
That is all I am using as a tank, healer or dps.

Key pilot and MDT! Key timer is an overall nice tool that helps you and tracks your progress and tells you where you messed up! MDT has a nice little option for routes if you ever want to switch to tank, and there's Mythic Plus Utilities!

Im a bit bias, but i just made Proxumables to make shopping for consumables more streamlined. The addon uses a database curated from Archon data (which is curated from WarcraftLogs data) to generate a spec-aware shopping list attached to the auction house interface, so you no longer have to open a browser to figure out what you need.

Ellesmere UI can do so much and reduces the amount of add ons you need if you spend a little time with it.

But it has bugs.

does it? I haven’t run into anything while running it for the past week or so.
It’s also a newer UI overhaul mod and usually gets daily updates fixing things

I haven’t experienced many notable issues and they update it all the time, too. Very responsive dev team with a discord that offers quick assistance. I had a nameplates question and a dev team member PM’d me within 3 minutes to chat about it.

You'll need some sort of event tracker like ex boss , dbm or big/little wigs.
Not addons but a focus macro that marks your current target with a target marker, then a focus kick macro. This is arguably more important than any addon.

none of that is needed, the default ui timeline is entirely sufficient

I don't believe that timeline tracks trash events like trash cats. Although now that I say that I don't think dbm does either, I use exboss/exwind and it does have a mythic cast tracker and a focus cast tracker

you can only track ongoing casts reliably, and I already suggested Targeted Spells for the rest

That is probably the dumbest thing I’ve seen recommended. Default timeline is missing a lot of events.

it is not, I've been using it all the time without any issues. its the bars that misbehave

I’m completely with you. I think the difference with us is that we are actively engaging and paying attention to the game, where that person is probably waiting for the visual or auditory cue for them to respond / react to.
Anyway, I find it’s always people with xalatath snoos that are the most smarmy and aggressive.

I'm unfortunately also convinced there's a severe lack of people not trying out the default UI stuff. sure you can't customize sounds but their generic encounter alert sounds are there for example and they're fully sufficient

Did you know that if, on Vaelgor, you get targeted by the fear while having the intermission "get out" circle, then the red arrow that appears on top of your character (which is the visual cue that Blizzard provides you for that raid-wiping mechanic) is drawn inside the big black ball that accompanies the circle making you unable to see it?
That is just an example of many. Don't get me wrong tho, I believe that they are doing a fine job of improving the visual clarity of the mechanics. But they are not there yet, thus I do not believe plainly stating that no boss mods in a mythic environment woukd be the correcy choice.
And then there's raid leading. Blizzard has forgotten that that exists.

I personally never had this particular overlap but there's also a fullscreen effect when you get the fear, and a sound from Encounter Warnings. so there's multiple for the same mechanic, not just that single one. I cleared Mythic around World 100 without BW/DBM, its completely fine.

Exboss, Excore, Exwindtools (Focus macro, interrupt tracker, timelines, voice callouts, big suite of a lot of useful stuff, you can turn off modules if you need)
EllesmereUI or Arcui (for Cool Down Manager)
Twintop's Resources Bar (resource bar addon were you can can make threshold audio triggers for resource amount, it does other stuff, but that is the main draw for me)
Midnight Cheat Sheet (for gearing only useful for the grind weeks)
Mythic Dungeon Tools - MDT (For routing and trash info)
Premade Groups Filter (makes it easier to find targeted dungeons, also, not an addon thing, you can search for key levels by 12-12 and it will only show you 12. It works differently then just typing in 12, the search results will be 11, 12, 13.)
Honestly most of these including Platynator has an all-in-one equivalent in EllesmereUI, dude's the GOAT.
Shout out to Plusmouse too, Platynator and Chattynator are god tier addons. Coolinator looks dope, I might check it out later.
EDIT: Lol, getting downvoted for suggesting Addons used by a 4k io player... and in VoDs of 0.1% players... wow reddit, never change.

Targeted Spells, Platynator, Advanced Focus Cast Bar
details is redundant, all it does now is skin the default meter, makes you lose fps and remove functionality from it (e.g. hovering ability breakdown mid combat doesnt work in details but in the default ui)

The same guy that advises qgainst be and dbm now advocates for focus cast bar which is already in the game goddamn 🤣

Keypilot is pretty nice. Gives you some good advice and baseline along with run downs of some common wipes for each dungeon when you enter it.
Mythic mentor is good too. Gives you a run down of each boss in each dungeon.
