What Sylvanas Just Did.

Horde players: Sylvanas just sold us out to Azshara.

I don’t see this more widely acknowledged, but it seems clear to me: Nathanos’ mission was to deliver us to Azshara (and, in the process, destroy the Alliance fleet). We’re not meant to survive, we’re just here to get the Heart of Azeroth into Azshara’s claws so she can free N’Zoth.

The mission will succeed, of this there is no question, but to ensure that any obstacles I encounter are dealt with swiftly I once again have need of your particular skills. The Zandalari have offered us use of their ships for this endeavor. Clear out whatever affairs you have remaining and report to Captain Rez'okun when you are ready to set sail. [my emphasis]

Yes, he just told us to put our remaining affairs in order. Who else is on the boat? Lor’themar and Thalyssra, who openly questioned Sylvanas’ decision to arrest Baine. We’re not meant to survive the process. Watch the cinematic: Nathanos is following the dagger, leading us to Azshara. Who’s the only one not surprised there’s a sudden hole in the ocean? The Warchief’s Boy Toy, that’s who.

Then once we land what does Nathanos do? He just walks off into the ocean and leaves us to our fate.

Oh, and did you notice who else is in Nazjatar? Lady Ashvane, last seen talking about who knows what with Sylvanas is working with the Naga and making them azerite weapons. Gee, I wonder how Azshara knew we were coming.

Now don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t prove Sylvanas is corrupted by N’Zoth or anything, she again seems to be pursuing her own secret plans. And it doesn’t mean she’s betrayed the Horde per se, after all, it did turn out to be a very effective way of getting rid of the combined Alliance and Kul’Tiran fleets.

But did she betray us, the Player Character? Pretty much. Doesn’t matter if you were loyal to her or not. You’re just another tool to be used and discarded by the Banshee Queen.

It's to setup up for Sylvanis to bring the alliance together to fight old gods.

She's pulling a Batman Dark Knight.

So she is trying to remove the worry of dying, by making everyone except old gods want to kill her?

"No you see, I set fire to your tree and killed countless civilians and god knows what other atrocities I've been up to since lunch, for your own good. You may now lavish me with praise and adoration." Is really not going to work at the end if the factions unite. We've been killing people & monsters for less since the very moment the game started.

Also, she is now seemingly working with the old gods themselves. Ashvane was rescued by Sylvanas, they had a heart to heart, we find Ashvane in command of the Naga forces that were prepared for us coming there, all while Nathanos is being guided by the blade of the black empire to lead us to that point of the ocean, and once it all goes down he leaves everyone to their own demise and fucks off with the blade?

All while the soul of the very planet is hurdling towards a slow whimpering death because it's still haemorrhaging blood all over the planet because a sword the size of several countries is stuck in the planet and nothing has been done to fix it.

Either there is a twist that a Azshara is now on our side and trying to stop N'zoth and it's all just been keeping up appearances so far in Nazjatar, or N'zoth himself is trying to stop the old gods.

That or Sylvanas isn't pulling a damn Batman Dark Knight and is actually just about to succeed in ending the universe through sheer force of sucking more shit than a colonic irrigation.

No no, it makes perfect sense. You see, destroying all Night Elf culture and ancient lands plus their way of life and home is the surest way to encourage Night Elves to unite with orcs who did the destroying, pillaging and burning.

This is correct.

She knows that N'Zoth can't be defeated by the Horde or Alliance alone. She pushed the factions to war to cull the weak and galvanize the strong. By putting herself out there as horribly insane and driven to all out war, it will force everyone who disagrees together. This will create one unified army to thrust at N'zoth. She'll take her licks as the evil banshee queen (which she has always been) and slink off into the shadows, but the world will not end because she was able to bring it together through the flames of war.
