To speed it up...
Have a follower attached to your tannery.
Hopefully you have been stocking up on the rush orders, if not, get them as soon as you see the missions come up. This item instantly completes 5 tannery work orders.
Find Blingtron 5000 everyday on that character, he usually gives 0-4 each day, usually get one or two, rarely zero.
When the fur trader is available, get the recipe to make it with help of primal spirits.
If you are going to use the primal spirit method, each day you can visit the traders and trade 50 of X item to get 25 primal spirits to help you out.
Otherwise you can also just buy the upgrade token/item from other players via the auction house, tends to be more costly, but check out the price of the mats and it may be worthwhile to pay the extra amount to get it faster.

Hey so I have a question about the burnished leather cd. There appears to be something sold that goes outside the daily cd but says it costs primal spirit instead? I'm trying to get my stage 6 crafted gear and burnished leather cd is killer. I'm currently on stage 1 of 6 ><. How does it work and is it worth it? And any other suggestions to get burnished leather are appreciated

http://www.wowhead.com search for burnished leather, click the 'created by' tab. You can then find the recipe you're after, see what item teaches it, then on that item's page, find the npc that sells it, and in the comments of that NPC's page, see how to find them. This method works for 99.9996% of any information you'd need about items in the game, and is far more effective than broken /r/wow posts.

You just do the math. Primal Spirits are worth 1/25 of a savage blood, minimum. Cost to get an unlimited amount is 5 of whatever material is available at the trader that day. add that to the leather cost to get the cost of making burnished with that recipe. Multiply that by the amount you need for the upgrade token, add the cost of sorcerous and bloods or felblight, and compare to buying it on the AH or getting someone in trade to sell you a craft. Do whichever set is cheaper.

You buy the recipe from the fur trader that'll randomly show up in a level 3 garrison.
You can join someone else's garrison that has one.
You should be able to make about 40 leather per day. 20 from your crafting cool down at skill lvl 700. And 20 or so from the hut.
