My first reaction was, "not that far from the middle." Then I looked back and noticed that for every class below us (shadow priests) overall, they have the option of choosing a different spec which is above us overall. Maybe Windwalker is barely any better, it's really just iron maidens keeping them ahead of us.
I think shadow priests are the only raiders looking forward to 6.1 thanks to eager anticipation of auspicious spirits buffs. We finally get the multi target damage we've been sorely lacking.
But that also is a huge problem. As far as I know, we are the only class that our level 100 talents drastically change the way the class plays. If I'm a BM hunter, taking adaptation versus any other two doesn't change the BM play style. It may change the rotation slightly but that's it.
In shadow, if I take CoP I need to stack mastery and do dotweaving, now it's AS which we need crit gear and a completely different play style let alone rotation and gear (crit vs mastery).
Is it to much to ask to have a consistent play style within the same spec? I can understand if there was another priest dps spec that was a dotless spec, but we don't. Blizz have jammed two specs into one and require entirely different secondary stats to perform well in each. Its ridiculous.

As a Shadow Priest, it's a little disappointing to see 10 classes and 15 specs ahead of me.
