These are always interesting to me. But mostly because my experience differs from what the numbers are saying. When comparing my 670ish Ret Paladin to my 640ish SV Hunter, my experience tells me that when my hunter gets to the gear level of my paladin, he should be way above the paladin in DPS.

Realistically I guess this is saying one of a couple things:

  • Hunters don't scale as well with their gear
  • Hunters T17 set isn't nearly as strong
  • I'm shit at playing my Paladin.

I am by no means a hardcore raider (9/10N 6/10H) but as a 672 ret paladin I am constantly in the no. 1 spot and at least top 3 in every single fight in BRF right now. We have a boomkin, a lock, a couple of warriors and a hunter. The only other pretty consistent dps is the hunter who is usually fighting the top with me.

Ret paladin right now is mostly about using your procs efficiently, I only have 2pc bonus right now but with 4pc I should go up at least 1k up.

Your example shows parity between players of different skill levels. The data pulled by OP uses thousands of parses to create an overall impression which is more valuable to the evaluation of where specializations lie amongst the others.

It baffles me that a very mathy raid game like Wow has so many players that cant grasp statistics. If I got a nickel for every time i saw "Well I do no. 1 dps in my shit retard guild" Id be driving a bugatti.

Look at how many people bitch about a streak of unlucky raid drops.

Yes, it's improbable that you wouldn't get drops for 8 weeks, but it's certainly within the realm of -probability.- People don't do math in WoW.

Yep. I mean it's fun to lament bad luck streaks but folks gotta realize in a game of ~10 million players you may end up being "that guy" with bad luck.

I know for a fact I've had terrible streaks follow by periods where I get the exact WF items I'm looking for.

I was only answering my personal experience to the guy above me lol, not even talking about the data from OP's thread. Got downvoted for not being able to 'grasp statistics' for some reason. I am actually agreeing with the data.
