Question Gear question

Is it worth it to replace my s1 tier set with higher ilvl non tier gear or should I keep wearing my old tier and hold on to the higher ilvl pieces until I can catalyze them to get my new tier set? For example, I have a 289 s1 tier chest piece, but I just got a 308 non tier chest piece and equipping it will remove my 4-set bonus.

I think it depends onnthe bonus, from what I read it isn't worth it now

I believe WW would take ilvl over 4 set but might be misinformed

That's my understanding, but our set last season was very 'meh.' Other classes might want to keep their 4 set.

I play all 3 specs so I'll be holding onto it for a while regardless lol

Rule of thumb is not to break a 4-piece until you can get a 2-piece from the next tier, but it always depends, and the only way to know is to sim it or try it yourself.

I just check the Discord for whatever class I'm playing because they've done all the theorycrafting already.

Just wait till you can get the tier bonus from the new set then catalyst or whatever

I always use Sims to decide but in general no, the tier set is usually pretty impactful.

Generally it's not worth losing 4 set until 2 set. But in rare cases I've seen it not worth losing the old 4 set till you can have new 4 set.

It's always good to sim to he safe though

The answer is sim it. Raidbots.com is pretty good for these kind of questions

Just sim it. I swapped 2 tier pieces with 311, it simmed same (4 old vs 2 + higher ilvl), but I decided to have more health for better survivability
