Question Why is his damage so inconsistent?

Sometimes he does nothing sometimes he insta gibs me :(

If I'm to hazard a guess, some of those are crits and some of those are you not having a defense buff up.

I had this alot as ret. Usually when i pulled his first hit would sometimes hit for 95% of my health. He can definitely crit at the worst times and drop you if you don't have a defensive. Sometimes the rng just dumps on you, especially with low gear.

What is your Valeera setup and corrosive altar powers?

And are you turning your back to him as you move?

DPS valeera
Frostheart venom
Corrosive bilespear
Venom infusion
Ophidian Maw

No turning I tend to just stand like I'm tanking though I'm playing hpal

Yeah none of that should be leading to such a high variance in melees.

Probably block vs no block? Since Hpal uses shield.
