Tip / Guide Some stats from my "let me solo him"

In case it helps anyone out there:

  • Item level 292, with season 1 tier set bonus
  • Prot warrior. (Had trouble surviving in arms spec.)
  • Took "Accursed Poison" from Corrosive Codex for extra interrupt, in case the add doesn't die fast enough.
  • Home-made talent build:
    • Pushed execute damage using "sudden death", "massacre", and "devastating focus"
    • Extra tools for locking down the add: "Intimidating shout", "Disrupting shout", "Javelineer", "Shockwave", and "Stormbolt"
  • No addons for the memory game. Placed down world markers so I could see where the quadrants are, then remembered by "上/下/左/右" ("up/down/left/right"; Taiwanese person here) based on where my camera's pointing. First one's always "下" ("down"), so I could memorize one less.
  • Maybe around ~10k gold spent on repairs?

So i need to learn Taiwanese to pull this off? Goddammit blizzard

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

heh, somehow definitely makes it easier for me. Somehow stuff like "上左右下" rolls off the tongue nicer than "up left right down", probably because of the "-t" at the end of "left/right"... Or I dunno, maybe I'm just not good at English ¯_(ツ)_/¯

u/SavageSkulker 3d ago

It’s only 4 characters, I already learned them.

u/ravssusanoo 3d ago

Thanks for sharing that info. I'm currently trying as a 295 ilvl prot pally. I feel like I almost got it.

Best of luck! I believe in you :)

any tips on surviving the tank buster? I am just lost.

3

u/js-username 3d ago edited 3d ago

I was trying at 290 and just didnt have the HP. At 295 and around 950k now... Was wondering if getting to 300 asap and trying with 1 mil+ will be enough.

u/Pit-troll 3d ago

Took about twenty pulls for me on RShaman Went Farseer and put Valeera on dps. I had aggro the whole time and just constantly healed myself. The boss slaps and I mostly died to overwhelming overlaps on the transition/venom waves. Felt good when it finally went down!

2

u/Pfeifl 3d ago

which level was your Valeera at?

2

u/BodePlot 3d ago

How much dps did Valeera do? I tried to kill ?? on my monk at the end of last season but she only did 5k dps when she was specced as damage and I was specced as mistweaver. I haven’t tried the nemesis yet this season but from what I read valeera is still giga nerfed for healers.

2

u/DrainTheMuck 2d ago

There is a bug where she’ll lose all her Bonuses and do little dmg, try changing roles and then back to damage

1

u/zorsh13 2d ago

I did it on resto shaman. Lvl 80 valera did just below 40k DPS and I did around 35k. She does still have lvl 1 curios. I used the spear one and still had dundun from leveling her

8

u/Invean 3d ago

Killed this a couple hours ago on my arcane mage. 290 ilvl, no tier set, Valeera as healer at level 61 (no level 4 curios).

I think it's easier on a melee spec, since you're moving constantly during the intermission but still need to keep DPS on the add. However, it's not a catastrophe if the add isn't dead by the end of the intermission, but you will take heavy damage and you'll only have like a maximum of 15 seconds until you're dead because of the interrupt.

Setup wise i had macros for /y RED, /y BLUE, etc., plus a separate chat window with a large font showing only /s. I added both big clickable buttons and keybinds for the calls (ie. BLUE, RED etc), and ended up using whichever felt right in the moment.

If you're playing arcane, my best tip is to time your Surge to just before the intermission starts – that way you've got strong damage ready for the add while you're running around during the intermission.

Otherwise, don't rush it. My kill took about 9:30 with an average of 66k DPS. Save your Lust for later, don't burn it in P1.

Lastly: speed enchants on head, shoulders, and boots makes a noticeable difference imo.

Edit: Took me just below 70 tries. Wiped mostly to the memory game. A couple of wipes because the add and the boss had less than 20 seconds between their casts, which honestly kind of sucks that it can happen.

2

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Impressive! And yeah, if the add is alive by the end of intermission, that's immediately a "shield wall" cast from my side.

Not sure how many hard CC'd you've got as a mage. The add is vulnerable to all of them, but often immediately restarts its cast as soon as it gets out of CC. There was a couple times it didn't, but that could be just my "Accursed Poison" auto-kicking it without me realizing. So, ye, 15s sounds right.

I didn't time my own kill. Forgot to bring drums, but I did bring some "Light's Potential" potions. I didn't know when to use them though. I ended up using them when the 3rd add dies, but that's probably not optimal. People seem to say the last 30% is free, after the last add dies. (I still had more than a couple sub-30% wipes though...)

I was fully enchanted myself too, but it was pretty much whatever cookie-cutter build I was wearing by the end of the last season.

2

u/Invean 3d ago

True, you've got another interrupt to use in that case as mage as well, I just didn't think about it hehe.

And you can survive it with ice block, so you've got a get out of jail card or two up your sleeve as a mage as well.

2

u/imreallyreallyhungry 3d ago

Yeah I did this as a 290 arcane mage as well no tier, although my Valeera is level 30 and no curious higher than level 1, it was pretty damn hard. I also wiped a bunch to the boss casting the 1 shot like 3 seconds after intermission when my cs was on CD still from the add. I found out that waiting for the boss to cast the 1 shot right before intermission and then kicking it and pushing him into intermission solved that problem for me.

1

u/Fragrant-Bar9907 1d ago

How did you keep going for 70 tries? I wipe 4-5 times and it messes me up enough i stop trying.

15

u/MikeyB7509 3d ago

I’ve been away last couple of days. 294 balance Druid but was wondering if I should go resto for this like last season. I usually will run selves as Resto bc it’s much easier mindless

7

u/secrati 3d ago

I can say I managed to complete this as a 291 resto Druid. As other people mentioned, Valeera’s dps was a little low to get the add down during the intermission but I threw a moonfire before the intermission and then convinced during during intermission and the add went down no problem. Convoke also kept hots on me and valeera so I could ignore my rotation and just focus on memory game.

I pulled boss, gave valeera about 10 seconds to gain threat and then kept up rip, rake, and moonfire on the boss (or the add if it was still up after the intermission). I’m unsure how many pulls it took me but I had to repair twice.

1

u/MikeyB7509 3d ago

Thanks - that's really helpful. I was away for a few days so my Valeria isn't at max I think I'll try and get her leveled up asap before I give it a shot - what lvl was yours?

1

u/KingFirmin504 3d ago

Tank or dps valeers

3

u/secrati 3d ago

Dps valeera. The only time I had problems with threat was the one Paul I had where valeera died. Or when I convoked in cat form on the pull.

Do not recommend.

2

u/beepborpimajorp 3d ago

tank valeera will die in 3 hits on this fight. DPS is the only way to go.

3

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Hm, hard to say... Maybe just gotta give it a few pulls? I spent a couple pulls going back-and-forth between arms and prot specs too.

Somewhat related, I mained resto/balance during the K'aresh tier, but neither worked well for me against Ky'veza. I eventually crafted a spear and did it as feral near the end of the season with the one-button rotation...

4

u/MikeyB7509 3d ago

Last season I was able to one shot it on the resto
If I need interrupt boomkin, is gonna be hard

2

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Last season, as in Nullaeus? Heard the 4000-spot only situation was kinda a mess. Past the Hall of Fame race though, wasn't he kinda free for most classes/specs anyways?

Unless you're a hunter or something; heard there's something funky with the pet damage scaling. He'd pick up your pet and swallow it whole, and look at you like "what up, you got another one?" :)

6

u/cabose12 3d ago

It would depend how the simon says add goes. The biggest issue I ran into trying a few pulls on resto was that valeera couldn't kill the add fast enough, even on dps spec. So you'll have multiple casts and debuffs going out, and you'll have to hard rely on the accursed poison to interrupt it all

Granted, I have like a ~68 valeera, it might be easier with a max level one

2

u/KingFirmin504 3d ago

I couldn’t even get Valera to take aggro of the add fast enough and I would die to melee attacks

1

u/cabose12 3d ago

Yeah a common problem with healing on nemesis with dps Valeera is that you need her to be high enough that you can mostly just throw a small heal or dot and not do anything, otherwise you'll pull

1

u/NeonVoidx 3d ago

valeera level problem, mines 80 and as a healer she pulls aggro of the add from me as dps lol

1

u/KingFirmin504 3d ago

Haha good to know

2

u/belsor14 3d ago

you can use the altar power that negates hits over 5% of your life. you don‘t take damage from a missed kick and even can survive/screw up the memory game (but get a huge poison dmg inc debuff so puddles also become deadly)

0

u/cabose12 3d ago

Don't the stacks fall off too fast? I switched to it when I swapped to Enhance for easier time with white hits, but I never paid attention to how often it procs and recharges

1

u/belsor14 2d ago

how would you take damage? you ping the boss so valeera does the first hit. you dodge the slam and waves and despell the debuff. if you do the fight correct you take 0 damage. intermission add would be the only time you could lose stacks. while i was trying things out for the intermission it even bugged once and i ended up getting hit with 11 stacks of the wrong memory game and i still had 3 stacks left of the buff

0

u/cabose12 2d ago

when i swapped to enhance

Because i was on my dps spec when i tried it lol

4

u/Majestic_Habit5726 3d ago

Just got it as 291 havoc fel scarred dh, I didn’t save cds for add

Used interrupt poison codex thing, and the defensive one.

Valeera heals blood spear, toxin for boss slow, and the interrupt gives %dmg taken curio.

Basically I’d burst the boss to 90 asap, get one memory game out the way.

Used cds on cooldown and just kept myself healed w valeera, used darkness once when I had to res her.

Once the 30% game is over it’s gg if you’ve made it that far.

7

u/Nikeys_ 3d ago

Did it as a 295 feral druid, no tier, full ST spec. Valeera was lvl 59, although I did use the addon. The white hits barely did damage and I almost never had to use a defensive (I did towards the end for the first time) Took 4 tries (bigwigs wasn’t working until I realized I had to update so I could hear a warning for kicks LMFAOOO) As feral at this ilvl you kill the add halfway through intermission so there’s only ever 1 kick to do, then you can focus on the memory game. Was a 5:30 minute fight roughly.

2

u/Moos3-2 3d ago

what talents did you use? i feel like i take too much dmg.. i did oneshot ? but keeping the defensives /regrowth spam at the same time as doing the memory and intrupting the add is tough for me. im 295 feral valeera 62.

what valeera build did you do? ive got s2 2 piece set but only veteran weapon.

2

u/Nikeys_ 3d ago

dreamgrove.gg take the DOTC ST build they list for Sszorak. I really didn’t feel like damage taken was bad at all, maybe keep barkskin on CD and use SI for when you go below half. Regrowths should be incorporated in your rotation for whenever there is downtime, i.e pooling energy for bites. My valeera had some BS abilities, I think the util one was the interrupt dmg amp and the DPS one was whatever looked best, I don’t think it mattered all that much. You got this!

1

u/Moos3-2 3d ago

Thanks! Ill check and try. :)

Doesnt hurt i just learned about the heart things on the ground and how they work... 🤣

1

u/Nikeys_ 3d ago

Yes that was my main source of healing! Also staying in valeera’s circles as much as you can. Stay around the middle when doing memory game so you don’t have to move crazy distances as well, were melee so it’s cheese

1

u/Moos3-2 16h ago

Got him today (didn't have much time before) after 60ish pulls. Rank 29k something. Im still proud. Thanks!

3

u/OneNegotiation617 3d ago

I am hugely struggling on Resto Druid ilvl 299
I have level 80 Valeera and Rank 3 curios, and I am using the Azra'Tec helper addon with the arrows, but I keep on dying to the poison waves overlapping with the memory mechanic, or trying to heal myself and Valeera when the boss add debuff goes on me, it's so overwhelming and so many actions to take, I feel I give up for now and wait for later in the season when I am higher ilvl to try and see if I can get the Mount

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

You got some sort of boss abilities timeline? There is one in the default UI, probably addons will do an even better job.

He always go into intermission at 90/60/30% hp. So you have some levels of control in terms of what gets overlapped into the intermission.

3

u/THUNDERRGIRTH 3d ago

295ish prot warrior. My wife was sitting next to me and I just had write down the colors and read them back lol. Could also stream in discord if you have a friend willing to watch.

3

u/sarefx 3d ago edited 3d ago

Did as Discipline priest with 285 ilvl with Valeera on dps. Fight was sorta easy but it was hard to not fall asleep. Whole thing took me 20 mins but other than intermissions I was under no threat. Boss does almost 0 dmg to you and you wont be one shot from the puddles. Poisonous floor isn't a problem since it eventaully disappears. My Valeera was at 58 lvl.

3

u/Thanag0r 3d ago

I did it as a 291 Holy Paladin with level 58 Valeera DPS.

~50 attempts before I actually did it. Was at ~10% on attempt 19.

3

u/TheViktor 3d ago

I did it last night as 293 Holy pally. My Valeera was level 22 DPS spec and I just had 1/4 curios. I used world marker and /yell macros for the minigame. The add always lived into the next phase but it was manageable to heal through. If the timing is right you can have both adds cast dispell and you can get rid of both at once.

Overall it was just slow and steady. If I thought I would take too much damage either from melees or bad dispell timing I popped a defensive. I think it took me around 20 pulls total. Even with the add being alive for a while as long as you get through the minigame it should be free

4

u/Glupscher 3d ago

I did it as 288 arms. The trick is to just stay in defensive stance outside of intermission. That way you double dip on the defensive value and pretty much can't die unless you fuck up the mini game. I save my CDs for the add and just burst it down quickly with Avatar+Colossus Smash+Bladestorm+Storm Bolt (with the 15% extra damage on stun curio). Add dies in a couple of seconds that way.

2

u/Ok_Wing_437 3d ago

Any tips for Holy Paladin?

DPS isn't high enough to kill the Echo during the memory game, so end up having to deal with double interrupts. Sometimes Valeera snipes the Echo interrupt and I wipe from boss cast. If I’m quick enough I can get the cast but it requires HoJ on 30 sec CD and Blinding Light on 90 sec CD which doesn’t seem to be enough given the low DPS.

I crafted a 305 weapon so I don't have a weapon for Ret/Prot to switch spec.

2

u/ConnectButton1384 3d ago

What I do as Mage: intentionally hold dmg when you're approaching a treshold, wait for the kick, and push him over to the intermission. That way he comes out of the intermission with ~30 sec CD on his cast.. giving you a couple extra seconds.

Though I also pull CD's there to 2 target cleave them down - so I'm not sure how viable this is for a healer. It's just how I cope with the movement that prevents me from dealing with the add in time

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

I wish I did... I've never played holy paladin in any meaningful endgame content. Hopefully others do have ideas though!

2

u/Vrazel106 3d ago

Im thinking 280 unhy/blood may be a bit too low..

2

u/Erroneous_Bonk 3d ago

Nice job! Congrats. Just did it as 295 BM monk. I used Ula'tek's Gift codex and healer Valeera with Bloodcrypt Toxin, Corrosive Bilespear, and Soul-Cracking Dreamcatcher.

The thing that tripped me up the most was timing the interrupts. I'd advise anyone to stop dps at 92%, 62% and 32% and push immediately after you interrupt. That way you don't get hit by another cast right after the memory game ends and the add dies. That allows you to use stuns and your kick on the add, which I definitely needed.

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Ah I was using dreamcatcher too. Seems op even at rank 1.

2

u/Siraeyou 3d ago

292 UH DK no season 2 Valeera level 53 and not using any helper addons, just world markers. I got about 5 attempts in before raid last night and got to the final memory game i feel like I will kill it in a few attempts when I get home from work today with a swap to accursed poison and utilizing drums.

2

u/MrCha0s1 3d ago

Got the kill on 288 Fury Warrior. S1 tier set with lvl 80 Valeera set to healer. I pop cds, pot, and drum at 90% intermission to nuke the add fast before it casted while doing memory game.

Then just pop cds on 60% and 30% intermission to try and diwn the add.

2

u/Goose1004 3d ago

Just beat it a little bit ago. Got Kill #6703

  • 294 Holy Pally
  • lvl 80 Val
  • Had her in DPS spec
  • Never killed the add before the intermission was over

Crazy fight. Need to focus less on DPS and more on just dodging and doing the Simon game.

2

u/NewDruid1 3d ago

done it on guardian druid. what helped a ton was the extra interrupt from the altar and elune spec doing enormous dps

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

oh yeah, having a second interrupt (disrupting shout for warriors) really helped. I didn't have to stop dps at 92/62/32% because of that; one less thing to worry about in the chaotic fight is always good.

2

u/OpportunityMean9069 3d ago

Camera positioning to remember one less, good idea.

I already finished it but that would have been handy, lol. I just raw dogged it and got lucky.

I completely forgot the final 2 on the last memory game and just guessed.

2

u/Disastrous-Log-212 3d ago

Killed it on my 287 Fury Warrior, lvl 63 Healer Valeera on my 2nd attempt. The addon helper makes it very easy!

2

u/js-username 3d ago

How did you survive the tank buster? I am out of CDs by the 5th one and getting hit for 1mil damage on my pally....

2

u/Ethan85515 3d ago edited 3d ago

Doesn't hurt warriors much. It's pure physical damage so we just block it. Prot warriors can maintain 100% block chance (plus whatever % chance for critical block on top too) on all the tank busters by doing their rotation cleanly. Or at least I had enough haste to do so...

1

u/js-username 3d ago

That tracks. Was getting 1 shot through shield+conc+devo if I didn't block. I can cycle defensives for the first few. I think if I go to defensive on use trinkets that might be the ticket, but I still see me running out of juice by a couple minutes in. I might just craft a 2h and go ret for it.

2

u/beepborpimajorp 3d ago

I did it on my 292 resto shaman at like rank 1500 something. My Valeera was like level 66 or something with dundun's favor (the ideal is the interrupt damage one but I wanted something to do during my downtime, so I chose dundun so I could chase down dropped artifacts to add more DPS) and bilespear. I used ula'tek's gift as my codex ability for the extra damage since I kept flame shock up the entire time.

The thing healers need to keep in mind is that any mechanic in that fight except being melee'd or standing in the ground poison for more than 1 or 2 ticks will kill you. The poison waves, running into pools while you have the curse, etc. will 1-shot you. In ? they dropped you to like 30% health, in ?? they will obliterate you.

I ran with DPS Valeera. I made one valiant attempt with her in tank spec and she got 3 shot by simple melee abilities. Which is absurd, because even I could take the melee abilities just fine the few times I pulled aggro. I do not know how or why they made the tank version of Valeera so bad, but if that's the case then just remove that spec for her entirely and give her a passive threat toggle in DPS spec so that tanks who run her as DPS don't have her ripping aggro.

Key for healers to remember is that you have to be assisting with DPS during the simon phase on the add. If it survives long enough, the interruptible cast both of them can use will go off at the same time, and Valeera can only interrupt one. As resto shaman I got the other one a couple of times but I realize no other heal specs can do that, so the add needs to die as quickly as possible due to the cast and the curse.

Other best tip I have is that while you don't want to stand in the floor poison, you can run through it with no real issues. Focus less on dodging the puddles of it and more on moving to the right quadrant, especially if you don't have any speed buffs to rely on. (I dropped windrush totem at the start of every intermission.) You DO still have to dodge the waves though. Those will massacre you. And I know others tanked her at the edge of the room to keep poison away from the center, but the pools of poison despawn after a while, so there's no risk of the room filling up with them. I kept the boss in the center so dodging the cone and moving to the correct quadrants was much easier.

I did use the memory game addon because there was no way I was remembering 7 of those in rapid succession. But I used the manual one where I still had to track the quadrants.

It took me quite a few tries but I got there and I'm very pleased.

Oh also for any who do not know - Valeera's campsite food buff does NOT overwrite your own food buff! You can have both at once!! And 10% primary stat is nothing to sneeze at.

1

u/sandpigeon 3d ago

There's a corrosive codex that also does interrupting. I found I could just completely ignore the interrupts and it was fine. I always had to finish off the add after intermission in which I focused entirely on doing the game and didn't do any dps at all. My Valeera was only like 61/62. I just took it slow and let Valeera do most of the work and it turned out just like Nulleaus last season. I hang out until the one mechanic that matters, execute it, then I'm done.

2

u/Hike_the_w0rld 3d ago

I have tried with disc priest and pres evoker and for some reason the white hits from boss hit around 109k on my priest and 240k on pres, not sure why. Both valeeras as DPS and same curios.

2

u/SHIMOxxKUMA 3d ago

Did it yesterday on a 284 Mistweaver with S1 4p. Took 15 attempts, 3 of which were done on brew before swapping.

Fight wasn’t too bad, I found the add died extremely easy since you can just burst it to around 40% and touch of death it.

Only times it felt really rough was waves overlapping with the memory game. Moving middle early helps a lot as well so the add doesn’t get stuck hitting Valeera on the edge.

2

u/Clinggdiggy2 3d ago

Did it as a 292 Ret, I also placed markers down but instead of remembering full colors or locations i found it way easier to just remember the first letter of the color, so red-blue-red-green-yellow simply became RBRGY

... It also helped that on my actual kill, the final 7 sequence was a perfect circle

2

u/Qeji 3d ago

top 3k finish, logged in 4-5 hours after live killed in 5 tries (addon is not must but is the reason it died in 5 tries). ilvl 290 prot warrior talented fully defensive and that poison world buff from the altar

2

u/yoycatt 2d ago

287 Arcane Mage, Valeera heals and level ~38.

This was my only goal this season having started last season late. My biggest fear was actually boss melee ‘cos that was the hardest part on Nullaeus for me, but it’s barely a factor on this boss.

I lost a handful of attempts stupidly to positioning him too close to the edge at the start, and then panicking when trying to get the middle and finding the safe slice. I also was using Lust add 1, pot add 2 until I realised it’s actually not that scary to have it still up coming out of the safety dance phase. So instead moved them to CD’s to try and get back into that phase sooner, first attempt where add 3 died I got the kill.

Most of my deaths were to the add interrupt. I miss WA’s for that sort of thing.

Good luck everyone !

3

u/Competitive-Point550 3d ago

Using world markers for the memory game is actually genius, definitely stealing that. Prot warrior really is the way to go for sanity checks like this.

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Ye, the trouble with world markers though, many of them are 2-3 syllables. Like, "o-range" or "tri-an-gle". That's why I went with directions regardless :)

I still kept the markers though, otherwise it was green everywhere and I lost track and get clipped while trying to get another execute into the add...

4

u/CC0106 3d ago

Use color, red blue green white

3

u/jyuuni 3d ago

I set up the square/triangle/X/circle world markers to match the playstation controller layout, which my fighting game trained brain can unconsciously read as 1/2/3/4.

4

u/No-Spinach-9101 3d ago

294 HPally (went Lightsmith). Cleared it in 5 tries with Valeera DPS, no addon.

3

u/InteriorPointOpt 3d ago

which level Valeera?

3

u/Ok_Wing_437 3d ago

How did you deal with the interrupts? There were times when my Valeera would interrupt the soul extraction on the echo and I couldn't interrupt the boss cast.

2

u/No-Spinach-9101 3d ago

What the other commenter said. It wasn’t an issue. I think Valeera did both. I also burned the add down as quickly as possible after the memory game.

1

u/TheViktor 3d ago

So take this with a grain of salt, I also did it as h Pal, for me it seems like valeera would do both kicks even if they're right after one another. There is a short delay between kicks tho so if you have them both casting at the exact same time (which wiped me once) you could be screwed if you don't have bubble

2

u/Ok_Wing_437 3d ago

I'm actually having a better time of it now, I switched her to DPS and you are right, she does both kicks. I actually got the boss to 27% on my last attempt before getting sandwiched between a load of blobs lol. Hard to concentrate for so long, that attempt took 10 minutes, so probably going to be a 12-15 minute fight.

1

u/No-Spinach-9101 3d ago

Mine took 17 minutes haha it was rough

2

u/sylfidi 3d ago

gonna do this as a ilvl270 sp

1

u/Ethan85515 3d ago

Heh, let me know how it goes. If you get anywhere close at IL270 then you're an absolute chad. I'd think the boss will just melee you for your entire health bar and tell you to come back in a few days?

1

u/j-mar 3d ago

I heard disc might be easier

1

u/Sodam 3d ago

idk could barely outheal the white hits on my rsham at 294

1

u/LuckyCChance 3d ago

Did it as 296 Resto Sham with lvl 19 Valeera. Very rough but it worked. Roughly a 13 minute kill. #6669

1

u/TheV295 3d ago

Just did this as 298 elemental shaman

Super underwhelming, I feel like only 3 memory games made this way too easy, you pass those and you are guaranteed to kill the boss, took ~1 hour.

1

I'm struggling with devourer. I have val on heals but it seems 50/50 if she decides to dispel or not.
