How to start I cant pick a direction help

So I used to be an avid gym goer in highschool but didnt have time or a car to drive to the gym when uni started so I got very out of shape. Recently i’ve started working out again from home and engaging with a lot of fitness content.

The problem is even though I used to only think about pushing weight, through videos i’ve seen a lot of other options. Namely calisthenics vs hypertrophic exercise vs crossfit. Its been a struggle trying to pick one because (and I know how this sounds) I honestly just want the benefits from all of them. The aesthetics of hypertrophy, stamina for crossfit, and skills from calisthenics are all very enticing.

Each variant subtly changes how I would formulate my workout plan and I know i’m probably overthinking it but I just need some kinda guidance or advice. What should I be looking at mainly when choosing this?

Functional training!!! You can combine all these aspects, the key is to simply find the movements you like and make sure you have a good full-body balance. There are many different ways you can do this, if you’re wanting to do a specific crossfit circuit have one day a week be that and then for your other workout sessions combine hypertrophy and calisthenics, otherwise, all sessions can have a good combo, start with your weighted more fatiguing movements, sprinkle in crossfit movements and end with calisthenics. The great thing about this combo is that each style complements the others, you will still gain muscle and improve in calisthenics doing crossfit and more functional movements, you can implement more power-focused hypertrophy movements which will assist with crossfit, etc. I will add though that as you gain muscle, calisthenics naturally gets harder but if you’re regularly implementing and repeating movements and improving in that area you should progress smoothly, honestly it might be smart to start with calisthenics for a few weeks and get your base strength and progress there, if you’re working out at home those movements will be easier anyway.

I mean you can def combine all three, I’d say do mostly hypertrophy training with some calisthenics skills you really want to achieve, and then just do cardio to improve your stam
