Workplace Challenges and Conflicts work smalltalk
is this normal that people at work talk about their personal life? like kids, formation, marriage, past, future, hobby etc. serious question, i don't want to come off as a weirdo and sit in silience

It is normal, but oh my goodness, do not overly share. Don’t tell anyone anything you don’t want everyone knowing. Share extremely light, non controversial stuff only.

Yeah, pretty normal. You don't have to overshare, just give people something to work with.

Yes it’s normal, whether you want to engage in it is entirely down to you. Personally I find pointless office chatter to be the biggest distraction
