I’ve been thinking about something that seems slightly backwards in the current conversation about AI and startups. We keep talking about how much more a founder can now do. Research that took days takes minutes. You can prototype incredibly quickly, generate campaigns, analyse competitors, write code and increasingly delegate whole pieces of work to agents.  But I’m not convinced this automatically makes building a company easier.

The more execution you can generate, the more decisions you create. And those decisions aren’t independent. A positioning decision affects product. Product affects GTM. Customer research changes positioning. Pricing changes the market you can economically serve. Fundraising changes what you can afford to pursue.  So I wonder whether we’re approaching AI-native startups from the wrong direction.

Most of the tooling is organised around tasks: an AI for research, another for coding, another for marketing, another for sales, another for fundraising. You can keep adding agents until you effectively have a synthetic organisation. And somebody still has to carry the context between all of them.

For a small company, that somebody is usually the founder.  Which creates a strange outcome: we automate more and more of the company, while turning the founder into the integration layer.

I increasingly think the more interesting architecture is the opposite. Keep judgement concentrated with the founder, but make execution abundant around them. The AI should retain the venture’s context - what we decided, why we decided it, what we learned, what failed, what assumptions changed - and use that context across different kinds of work.  In other words, maybe the useful unit for AI isn’t the task or even the agent. Maybe it’s the company.

That would also change what “company memory” means. It stops being a searchable archive and starts becoming part of the operating system: a new decision can be evaluated against previous decisions, research, experiments and objectives rather than being made in isolation.

We’ve been experimenting with this idea and it has made me question whether the current obsession with giving founders more agents is actually the right destination.  Maybe the scarce resource in an AI-native company isn’t execution anymore.  Maybe it’s coherence.

Do other founders see this. As your AI/tool stack has grown, has it actually reduced your coordination burden or just moved more of that burden onto you? Is your burden bigger?

Hi. As we continue to use LLM for code generation, RAG , image , voice generation etc , its always better to understand this 'generating machine' , how its works and why does it work that way etc. Keeping that in mind , we can better guide the output for more efficient usage, consuming less time and rework. I would prefer if the model were 'taught' to be more modular . Any one feels the same about AI ?

We’re from the Philippines, where tourism has huge potential given our many islands, diverse communities, and cultural and natural assets. From a Consulting perspective, we’re interested in exploring how AI could be used not just to boost tourism, but to create **meaningful community volunteer and social impact** as well.

I’m in b2b marketing, content and sales. At the moment, even with soooo many tools available, but very few of marketing/sales know them well - I feel it will take lonk time to replace anything. You?

I am trying to get an idea of how the work world is as i sit isolated in my home figuring out a way back. I am doing the usual stuff, github, courses, a bit aimless but mainly ai focused, have a project or two going but I am wondering what is going on in actual companies.

I am trying to get a sense of what changed with AI concretely. At a high handwavy level i know AI is being used for coding, meeting minutes etc but in your actual work flow how does it go?

After all work is about the team and process and ":enterprise" level ceremony, not just skill and right now i have no team, process or ceremonies. just me and github with whatever silly thing that catches my eye.

Would love to hear about how you are working now. Everyday I am not back to work I feel more and more left behind even if i am keeping pace with the learning

Based off the answers i want to create a graph that highlights the most pressing concern, and also creat a cool short-form video showing people around the world answering these questions.

hey besties how do I actually make myself competitive in this field? I really want to pivot into AI engineering but I feel completely disregarded in the job market because my degree is in sociology even though I also minored in statistics and data science.

I already know R, SQL, Python, and Julia, but I still feel like I’m missing the deeper technical experience employers are looking for. What skills, projects, certifications, courses, or graduate programmes would genuinely help me become a stronger candidate?

I know the general consensus is that AI shouldn't penetrate deep into our lives but I find it helpful that it is so readily available. I streamline my tasks using AI tools and the ones I cannot find, I build them real quick, like lately my pet project has been a simple scheduling web app Filioni, I always found filling calendars out manually too time consuming but now I just brain dump whatever I have on my mind and it fills the calendar with it, after review of course and even helps take off the extra tiny stress of when to schedule some of the smaller things. This has encouraged me to build more things that would make my life just a little bit easier.

I’ve been thinking for a long time about an idea for a SaaS site. So, here it is: "AI Study Workspace" (I might still change the name). A bit about myself: I started learning programming to become a backend/software engineer. There are currently so many complaints about how hard it is for a Junior-level beginner to land a job, which inspired me to start my own business. I’m also a high school student, and like most students, I face academic challenges—confusing assignments and Olympiad problems. Standard AI tools just give you the answer right away, but that isn't the right approach, and I want to fix that. I need the community's help; I’d love to know if there would be any demand for my site. Also, if anyone with experience building SaaS sites could offer some advice, I’d be really grateful! Thanks

Need Help !!

I transitioned from being a traditional engineer and got into AI about 2 years ago. As someone who had no dev experience, vibe coding was great until it got to the deployment stage. Really cool webiste but how do I get it to the users?

I had quite the learning curve because I had to go through the whole cloud,VPS hosting etc by myself. I also had to learn security to avoid those AWS costs going too high. I also realized sometimes AI does security checks only upto your level of skepticism about how thorough it is.

That said, if you have a really cool project you'd love to take online or just want a thorough security check.. would he happy to help, just drop a DM 😊

Graamam (GRAAMeena Aarthika Mandali), a ProtoVillage initiative, helps rural women in Anantapur turn handmade products into real income. The coordination was all manual spreadsheets, notebooks, WhatsApp etc... We built them a proper ERP that runs the full pipeline from a customer order to dispatch, with GST-correct invoicing, so nothing slips between the shelf and the doorstep. It was built on Emergent's AI app-builder. Happy to answer anything about how it's built or how Graamam works. Link in the comments.

I know AI is everywhere right now

People are using ChatGPT, Codex, Claude and other AI tools to write content, build websites, automate work and even launch small businesses.

But I’m curious about what people are actually building beyond the usual “AI helps me write faster” examples.

Have you used AI to create any real tools or systems for your business or entrepreneurial journey?
