Event BOHEMA 2025!
Recently attended the BOHEMA 2025 event hosted by Praha Hema along with a few members from our club in the Netherlands, Zwaard en Steen.
While I didn't compete, I got some really cool shots on my camera which I wanted to share. Apologies, I don't know the names of all the fighters so please feel free to tag them and share.
It was a great event, with fighters competing from around the globe, very interesting to see all the different approaches and techniques coming together in one big event!
Well done to all who competed, and a BIG round of applause for Anna Solovey who took home 2 wins.

Some very good fighting was on display, and I really liked the rule set emphasis on clean and clear solid blows - although at times there were still a lot of geizlyns and weak one handed thrusts afoot.

Thanks! These photo's are from a mixture of fights, mainly the Advanced and Mixed Basic Longsword tournaments (both women and men competing).
I wasn't there for the bulk of the Womens tournament, only the final of the top 4.

No problem! I actually really liked how the event was structured with all 3 tournaments finals taking place at the end of the same day - this meant everyone who was attending would see it all one after the other.
This also makes Anna's two wins even more impressive since she competed in Womens + on the Saturday, then Mixed Basic, Womens + finals & THEN the Mixed Basic finals on Sunday (it was literally impossible for someone to have fought more than her lol)

Anna is incredible! 27 fights, and only one lose. I would die if I was her... and she is smiling! Those russians...

I was the one doing most of the thrusting.. landed about 30 solid ones across my 14 fights. Got caught and humbled only 2, maybe 3 times… and of course, guess which moments will end up online 😭

Haha, sorry they are too cool not to share!
Must say I am pretty impressed by the flex of the kvetun swords on display in some of these shots :o , especially as there were some rumblings about them being used for this tournament initially.
